Let’s Sweat

But take it slow….
Last week I went to try a new workout class at ModelFIT (before you lose it on me, their slogan is “It’s not model thin, it’s modelFIT”), and there were all shapes and sizes in class. No Karlie Kloss to ruin my first work out in months. I really didn’t know what to expect — would I have cell phones thrown at me Naomi style to get me to go faster? Maybe it would be non-stop cardio, my absolute least favorite…
Turns out it was much simpler than that, and slower. Like dial-up internet slow. But by the end of class, I felt all the small moves we did… from the tiny leg lifts to shortened jumping jacks, and so did my butt, thighs and even my arms! We used resistance bands and 3lbs 2lbs weights along the way and finished with some stretching, which I love and always am disappointed when it isn’t involved.
All in all, I would recommend their classes for anyone looking to get lean and toned, the space has beautiful light, the locker rooms are clean with great beauty products and the music is curated by DJ friends of the studio.
Now I have a plan on how to balance all the holiday sweets coming up…. thinking small, real small.

C’est chouette quand ça travaille…mais lentement, on ne sent pas les efforts mais on voit le résultat !

Sounds like it works all the little muscles we forget we have! I’m going to try Jetset Pilates after it was recommended to me by a model, who has one of those fit but not super thin bodies I’d love to have!
In my latest post, models spill their secrets on how they stay fit!

I’d love to try this workout! It sounds perfect, and complementary with my brutal interval trainings! ;)

I love the current trend for strong rather then skinny body. I used to long for that super thin/jutting collarbones kind of look, which is completely unattainable for average person. But recently I’ve realised that no fat lots of muscles look is much more attractive then just no fat and no muscle look. So I’ve contacted one of last year finalist of Bikini Fitness competition who is also a personal trainer. I got a diet and exercise guide and I’ve started today- wish me luck!

I think it’s sad that they felt the need to incorporate “model” into their name. Most women just want to look and feel like their best selves. And not all models are fit; some pride themselves on their good genes and lack of exercise. The workout sounds good though; I do something similar at my gym.
