Dawn Russell is the founder of 8Greens and an all around supermom. In 2015 she founded 8Greens after recovering from stage III cancer, having been the first patient at Memorial Sloan Kettering to forgo Chemo-Radiation and exclusively do integrative medicine. During her recovery Dawn learned the power of real greens, and was committed to making greens easy, tasty, and accessible for anyone, anywhere, any time. What do you do daily for your wellness?

My family. I ALWAYS put my boys to bed. It is the best part of my day. We read, tell each other our high and low of the day, and snuggle. It is my wellness.

What do you do weekly for your wellness?

I try once a week to take an Epsom salt bath. Any cheap Epsom salt from the drugstore will do. Pour the whole bag! I brush with any bristle brush I can find while soaking in the bath. I air dry to get all the Epsom salt water absorbed into my skin. The following morning my skin is like a baby’s bum.

Audio books. I travel a lot and love to listen to biographies to learn about others’ life stories. I recently finished Team of Rivals. Not only did I gain the absolute highest respect for Abraham Lincoln, but also learned life lessons.

What do you do monthly for your wellness?

Cupping and Acupuncture. I swear by both. Given I only have half the lymph nodes in my body from cancer at age 25, it is my part time job to keep my circulation moving throughout my body. Cupping and acupuncture not only help with circulation, but clean out, detox and give me continual health.

What do you do yearly for your wellness?

Health Center. I try annually to travel to a leading health center and interview the founder, CEO, or leasing doctor. They always give me a tip or secret gem that I can then bring to American consumers to do in their own kitchen or bathroom at home.

How do you define wellness?

I define wellness by how I feel. The answer tells me everything. Do I need sleep, healthy food, a good laugh, a snuggle, a workout, a detox, a glass of wine, an 8Greens? Our body never lies.
