The Photo Booth At The Ace Hotel

There’s a photo booth at Ace Hotel… Yeah, okay, that’s nothing too exciting and believe me, there are photo booths everywhere right now!
But this one here is special because it shoots out photos using the same process from back in the day, on silver film. The kind you have to wait for hours to develop and are still dripping wet when the little booth shoots them out.
I’m telling you, super authentic and super fantastic.

La dernière fois que je suis rentrée dans un photomaton, je crois bien aussi que c’était en vue de faire des photos amusantes à deux, pour garder le souvenir d’une bonne journée… Je testerais bien cette version so vintage.
Mince, je ne suis pas du bon côté de l’Atlantique, j’oubliais !

you say: ” there’ll be photo booths everywhere soon…” – in Germany there are soooooooooooooooo many of them, especially in the hipster districts :) (you look much nicer on the photos than I usually do!)
J’adore ces photos, je viens d.ailleurs de récupérer des photos des années 50 de ma petite maman lorsqu’elle était enfant. Superbes , et elles sont dentellées…. Du bonheur

j’avoue que cette mode du vintage commence vraiment à m’exaspérer. on ne voit que ça partout, dans tous les domaines (musique, déco, mode, photo ….)
pourquoi ce serait bien parce-que c’est vieux ?
ça me fait penser à ma grand -mère qui trouvait que tout était “mieux de son temps”.
vivons au temps présent, sans toujours avoir la nostalgie du passé (dont on ne retient que le positif, jamais le négatif, d’ailleurs …)
elles sont trop sympas ces photos… a paris il faut aller au “104”, il y a aussi un photomaton a l’anciennce ;-)

I totally agree with Nora, in Berlin they have been part of the city since ever and the black and white color makes you look fantastic at any time of the day!! I adore them and have tons of these photo stripes with different people! Loving it.

La dernière fois que je suis entrée dans un photomaton c’était, comme Monsieur J, au musée de l’Elysée à Lausanne. Et dire qu’avant, au temps jadis, lorsque j’étais ado, il y en avait partout et pour 1 franc suisse, on avait droit à 4 poses en noir et blanc. Snif. Voilà, c’était le moment nostalgie du jour.
Tu veux direu authentchhiiiqueu, le faiseur de sandwitchs des plages Borély ?

I love the ACE in NY. Such a cool place to work and hang out. I am also a huge fan of the photo booth… and their amazing coffee!
