Sur moi non plus! J’ai essaye` d’avoir ce genre de coupe mais ca n’a pas marche`, mes cheveux sont trop raides et fins et donc il tombent a` plat En tout cas j’aime ce carre parce il donne une allure tres naturelle et un brin sauvage.
I have changed my haircut from long to “carre” recently. It does suit my face shape and I find it different to the rest of haircuts…..

I have a bob and i’ll love to have this blowout, a little “moved”, but i can’t!! My hair are neither straight or waved!!! I love also the cut of that french girl in Madmen (the one who sings Zoubisoubisou..).

Oh Garance please keep your bun!!! You know I felt the urge to cut my hair and I cut it super short, and now I want to have it very very long (and it’s barely past my shoulders)
Alors moi, pareil, j’arrive à ce résultat sans trop d’efforts. Toutefois… ne pas oublier que ce volume + ce mouvement (qui sont, il me semble, le secret de cette coupe) ne résistent pas à, comment dire, la vie dans ce qu’elle a de plus mobile ;) J’entends par là que dès que l’on bouge et que l’on fait ce que l’on fait au quotidien, et bien tout vire. Mon conseil – puisque c’est quand même une coupe à tomber – c’est de défroisser au maximum les chevelures ondulées pour ensuite leur redonner de la texture avec des produits secs (sinon, ça refrise). Et bien sûr, d’hydrater ses cheveux tous les jours … Pour avoir cette tenue et cette souplesse, il faut un cheveu ultra nourri et non alourdi, donc beaucoup de soin. Mes cheveux m’ont fait comprendre que si je les aimais, ils me permettraient tout :) alors je me permets un dernier conseil : Go for it!

J’ai eu pdt des années un carré (avec frange, un peu plongeant, avec mèche…). Et cette année je me suis décidé à les laisser pousser, et donc j’ai enfin les cheveux longs, j’y suis arrivée!!!! (grâce à mon coiffeur génialissime). Je suis contente mais quand je vois une belle coupe comme Catherine je trouve ça cool, frais, j’ai presque envie de refaire un carré……..
You should cut it. Hair grows back again, so it won’t be the end of the world,and I am sure you have enough friends of that expertise to help you in the grow out process. You have to take risks sometimes. I am wondering if I should colour my hair.
Sorry if this sounds cynical, but if you would have your hair professionally done everytime you appeared on photo or if you were photoshopped into oblivion each day, I think that the above haircut would look good on you as well and on basically anybody.
Also, the picture is really very one-dimensional and does not take into account bad hair days, you know, that awful thingy that non-models suffer from.

I love it! I dream of having this hair…curly!! Mine is super-fine and straight as a board! And yes, I think it would look fantastic on you! I also love your…bun. Can you have both? My stylist is fond of saying that a cut is one thing and styling the cut is another which can be taken a few ways but maybe..maybe you could have both?

Garance, votre coupe sur la 1ere vidéo à Paris récemment était parfaite. Mais vous ne l’avez gardée qu’une seule fois, dommage! Why?? Ça vous va si bien les cheveux lâchés, ça change tout, et c’est beaucoup plus féminin. Il faut tester pour savoir si ça vous va! Suis sûre que oui. Votre chignon serré est trop coincé! ou alors donnez-lui plus de leste!

That cut would TOTALLY be as cool on YOU!. Your hair has body and movement. You could have that style with little effort. But if you are like me, you’d miss the ability to pull it all off your face. When I am working and looking down, I don’t like the mess of having hair in my face. So I am still debating whether to cut it to bob length or not.

Anna Wintour can pull off the same bob everyday because among other reasons it has structure and a uniform shape whereas this bob is equally impressive, but loose and wild despite its structure, if that makes sense. I like imagining myself in this bob, but I know realistically I wouldn’t be able to recreate the same fabulousness each and every day. Disappointing, yes, but true–for me anyway. Anyway, great eye, Garance!

Yes!!! I love her haircut, it is a great bob with subtle layers at the ends. Earlier in the year I had my hair down to my middle back, but I started cutting off few inches every time I visit my hairdresser in order to make the change less drastic (time wise), now I have almost her length and I LOVE IT.
I am planning to keep the length for a while. You should try, your face shape is perfect for a sassy bob.

She looks fantastic with that bob and I think you would too. But I can understand your hesitation…. I had long hair all my life and the last maybe three years, I ended up wearing them in a ponytail, so boring, ponytail every day…. so one day at my hairdresser I felt super adventurous… and…. I have a bob now…. and I love it! My former straight hair went a little bit curly and washing my hair became so much easier. I miss my long hair only once in a while, when I look at old pictures, but it’s not so bad and I enjoy my bob for the moment, after all…. hair grows back ;-) xxx

Oh oui, ça lui va super bien, j’adore ! Ca me fait passer à la coupe de Jasmin (dont je ne me souviens plus le nom mais tu sais l’anglaise aux cheveux bouclés que tu aimes beaucoup).
Sinon avec les cheveux qui bouclent, faut pas que ça fasse carré-carré sous peine de faire effet pyramide (mmmmmmm).
alors là, je ne peux qu’aimer: c’est pratiquement ma coupe! et en passant: tu avais un carré (un peu plus long peu être?) dans la toute première vidéo de PMF (le teaser): je me souviens que ça t’allait super bien et c’est très féminin sur toi. Alors oui, forcément, avec les boucles c’est différent, mais l’idée reste la même… bon et de toutes façons, j’adore les “gros” cheveux – étant moi-même bouclée/ondulée, j’aimerais l’être encore plus tellement j’aime les coiffures un peu messy…

You should do it! I did mine this spring to a similar (thought slightly shorter and choppier) bob and I haven’t regretted it for a second. And with a length like that, you can still always pull it back ;)

J’adore cette coupe, ça donne du mouvement sans effort ! et puis qu’est ce que ça semble facile à vivre un carré à côté des cheveux longs, on peut les laisser détacher toute la journée !
moi je pense qu’un bon coiffeur saura comment ‘l’arranger’ pour votre visage et vos cheveux et que le court de toute manière il faut y passer un jour (juste pour voir ou pour garder dans le meilleur des cas!)
Moi, j’ai un peu cette nature de cheveux et j’ai peu à peu raccourci vers un carré comme ça. Sauf que dans la vraie vie, ça donne mèches du devant coincées derrière les oreilles pour dégager le visage (=effet oreilles de cocker/tente quechua). Donc à bien réfléchir selon la routine de soin/mise en forme que tu peux faire tous les jours (moi, c’est plutôt tendance…rien).
It’s perfecct! But same problem here. I also have curly hair so this hairdo is a no no for me, even though I want it so baaad…
Also to add that short hair is much more sophisticated than long – in my opinion. They seem polish every time, with every outfit!

Juste une chose, les cheveux, ça bouge par définition..alors ce côté très sauvage mais discipliné va te demander beaucoup d’entretien au quotidien:-) vas-y si tu es prête!!!

I have this haircut and I’m soooo happy with it! It’s feminine, sexy and
cool at the same time. What I also like about this cut is that you can wear it soft and clean or unruly and wild. There are a lot of hairproducts that can make those differences.
I think it would look supergreat on you Garance.
But you’ve got to accept that there is gonna be some hair in your face sometimes. And before your eyes. If that fact drives you grrrrrrrazy: don’t do it. If you don’t care and want a change: go for it.
I think a bob would look brilliant on you. I really liked your hair in Pardon My French in Cannes – a bob would only be a little shorter than in Cannes. As I have commented before I think you look somehow more collected and calmer when your hair is tied in the nape rather than as a bun on top of the head. You have beautiful hair and with your curls you can easily carry off a wild bob – sexy,young yet sophisticated!

Elle t irait très bien, de même que le bun ou les petites nattes du grand journal (quand on est jolie, tout va)
Et puis rien n est irréversible en matière de coiffure alors fonce !

Love the bob but please think twice before cutting.. I cut my hair to bob length earlier this year for trip to Italy. I wanted no-fuss, no hair dryer style. After seeing all the Italians with long hair, the yearning came back. I have been growing it ever since. Can this look be achieved by pinning up the back? Just wondering….

I had long hair up until the summer (which I hardy ever wore down, always a bun or pinned loosely to the side). After seeing an older woman with long hair and thinking…….aargghhhh…don’t want to look like that! I cut it into a blunt bob, my hair wavy/messy – I do miss the versatility of putting my hair up but love the freedom of the bob. Another plus is everyone says I look younger with shorter hair! xox

Les cheveux lâchés, au carré te vont hyper bien d’après ce que j’ai entr’aperçu sur une photo il y a quelques temps. Wild !
Garance – this look requires naturally wavy hair. My cut is similar, expect that I’ve been growing it out, and getting the layers trimmed. Layers and natural waves are the trick for this look. The one GREAT thing about this cut (if you have the right hair) is that it only requires washing and combing. It is maintenance-free: no products, no hair dryer, nothing.
Ahhhhh Garance!!! J’adore aussi ce carré ondulé depuis que j’ai vu Arizona Muse avec cette coupe!!! J’ai envie de me la faire aussi… mais je me vois déjà regretter d’avoir coupé mes longs cheveux.
Ecoute bien : Tes cheveux tu les gardes tout le temps attachés. Si c’est parce que tu ne supportes pas de les avoir dans la figure, ne les coupe pas, ça sera encore pire une fois coupés. Mais si c’est parce que tu trouves qu’ils n’ont pas de forme et que ça prend trop de temps de les entretenir, alors IL FAUT ABSOLUMENT QUE TU LES COUPES!!! Un carré court ou une coupe garçonne, je suis sûre que tu serais divine!! Toi qui travailles dans la mode, et qui as tant d’amis, tu dois bien connaître une ou deux coiffeurs!!! Je suis sûre que si tu leur demande conseil, ils sauront exactement ce qui t’irait le mieux et te donneraient de très bons conseils!! ;D

After a tough year and having recently returned home after travelling around South America, the first appointment I made was to have my hair cut off – it has been long (almost to my waist) for the last three years, and I took it to Catherine’s length.
I feel like a different person. A weight as literally and figuratively been lifted!
