When Garance says, “We have to do something about jumpsuits!! I just got an amazing one!,” well, I listen. So we talked a little bit about how there have really been so many iterations on what a jumpsuit is today (tailored, short, silk, printed… you get it), but it’s really about how you style it.
For an item of clothing that was traditionally and functionally meant for flying those jet planes and changing tires, wearing one today, as a woman, may seem like a far from flattering option. It kind of reminds me of Jennifer Beals in Flashdance, but even she was so sexy in those workwear pieces! It isn’t impossible is all I’m trying to say (and you don’t have to pull a bucket of water on yourself either!).
So we wanted to show you a few ways of wearing a jumpsuit that work…
Waist, not waste: I love how the jumpsuit can double as just pants when you tie it at the waist and wear it with a cool t-shirt like Tasya. It also doesn’t hurt to take along a beautiful vintage hat box for extra points.
More lady, less lad: A more feminine approach like how Caroline wears it, with espadrilles and delicate jewelry. Not to mention the ventilated, open back.
Keep it loose: What better way to make a simple jumpsuit really sing than by carrying a silver bag and tying a scarf at the neck. Giving a nod to eras past, especially with Djuna’s cat eye sunglasses!
Get shorty: While the shortall may be a bit too adolescent, the short jumpsuit (its cousin and counterpart) is perfect dressed up with large gold hoops and a solid cuff. Jess’ red hair also lends itself to wearing green – even in the summer!

I never wear jumpsuits…. Don’t like them on me.
Well, I admire them from afar since I have a long torso. They simply don’t fit and/or don’t flatter.
J’aime beaucoup mais si ce n’est vraiment pasévident d’en trouver une qui mette en valeur le corps féminin !

So easy and fresh – all the ladies look superbly elegant! I love them all. They are like the boy-version of dresses – one-piece wonders.
I wear them in summer as silk onesies with straps, in traditional, earthy batik prints.
My winter (as yet unworn one) is a heavy cotton – like builders wear, with long sleeves in a deep lapis blue. I’ve never worn it in winter, as I freeze when I take the top down to use the bathroom. However, the way Taysa has worn hers has inspired me to try it with the top wrapped around the waist with my printed T-shirts.
I have 6 jumpsuits, of all different styles. A slouchy black crepe for evening, a versatile black silk, a white with culottes, printed cotton, a safari style romper… They are one of my favorite things to buy and very flattering on my short torso.
I love the first image the most – those pants! I have pajamas like that :) Maybe I should start wearing them outside?

Depends upon occasion for me – I tend to prefer to wear off work hours as don’t like to undress most of self (top half) when use (unisex) office restroom; the only thing I find to be a downside to the jumpsuit.

I realize that practicalities rarely come into play in fashion, but…..
1. jumpsuits are not great when using public toilets. You have the top dragging on the floor, or at least you have to try to keep it from dragging on the floor. I don’t like getting half undressed just to pee.
2. if the jumpsuit isn’t quite loose, you get a wedgie when you sit down.

Jumpsuits are stupid, never mind the bathroom problem. I cannot see the point at all. They should be worn to paint your living room and that’s all.Why not pants and top?
To me, it is so impractical, after each wearing you have to wash the whole thing, esspecially in the summer. Pants or skirt you can wear repeatedly and just change the top. The same bothers me with some sensitive dresses- like wool or silk…
Je suis en combi pantalon aujourd’hui même, une en jean, roulotté avec des méduses léopard aux pieds ! J’adore le côté cool de la combi. Je viens d’en trouvé 2 mais version short. Une en denim clair, chez Zara et une en denim blanc chez H&M, j’adore ! C’est la pièce parfaite pour l’été. Ma préférée, une Heimstone en soie blanche imprimé surfeur !

Je suis amoureuse des combi-pantalons depuis des lustres, depuis qu’un jour (ado donc ça date) ma tante a donné un sac de vêtements à ma mère qui en contenait un. Trop petit pour elle, je me la suis accaparé.
Alors lorsque cela revient (régulièrement) à la mode, je dévalise les rayons. J’ai la version chic, cool, courte (combishort), etc…
Après oui je suis d’accord, ce n’est pas le truc le plus pratique pour aller aux toilettes ^^

I’m gettin obssesssssessssed with the one piece one day at a time, especially the short version
Totally in love with jumpsuits! I owe over 10 despite a long torso. Sometimes they can be fitted to a long torso but it needs a tailor who knows which seem to open and how a cut shapes at the ass. In contrast I think having not much waist and a rather straight slim figure works well with them. I style them with vintage faux bob hair in 50ies or 20ies style and 20ies makeup( 50ies makeup doesn’t fit me. Long suits with heels short ones definitely with flats.
