For a little while now, I’ve started to do some online shopping and I have to confess, I love it.
The only thing is, outside of the classics, like Net-a-Porter, I don’t really know where to go to find the best selection…
I’d like to find little boutiques with paired down choices and mix of lesser known brands alongside the classics.

Depuis que je n’habite plus Paris, j’avoue que j’achète beaucoup plus sur internet! je me sers beaucoup de pinterest pour faire de jolies découvertes. Pour la beauté c’est Aesop, ou sephora, pour les fringues, c’est très souvent topshop et asos, anthropologie parfois! (pas très dépensière en ce moment!;) et pour les bijoux et accessoires, hé bien, je m’n charge personnellement!

Shopbop is my favorite along with Revolve Clothing. Occasionally Tobi and Saks. I like sites that offer free international shipping and a super easy exchange and returns policy. I live in France now but I still buy my clothes in the US. Somehow the french prêt-à-porter doesn’t cut it for me… And I like the fact that I don’t see my clothes on other people.

Shopbop has a wide range of clothes and accesories. You like Zara so try that. Basically any designer that you like has a web site.
Depuis que je vends des vêtements vintage en ligne (et ne porte pratiquement que du vintage/usagé) sur Etsy, j’achète beaucoup d’autres vendeurs sur le site. Les chaussures vintage sont plus difficiles à trouver que les vêtements, donc j’aime bien pouvoir rechercher des modèles exacts dans ma taille.
Sinon, bien que je n’aie jamais rien acheté là, j’aime beaucoup jeter un coup d’oeil à la sélection d’Anaïse (anaise.com), Totokaelo et de La Garçonne.

Yoox is good for all the European brands. Sometimes I’ll check out Gargyle (www.gargyle.com) because they are a local boutique in NY. Their selection is up my alley in terms of style so might not be for everyone. I like to use Shopstyle when I want to kill a lot of time. If I have something specific in mind, I type it in the search box and viola you’ll get so many options!
I (still) do not do shopping on like, mostly because I really like to touch and try on the things that I’m going to buy. And I think that my first on-line purchase will be your poster “The Cape” as soon as it comes back in stock! :*

Moi aussi j’adore mais peut-être pour d’autres raisons.
Dans un magasin traditionnel, il faut sortir sa carte et faire comme si c’était tellement ‘normal’ d’acheter la dernière robe Isabel Marant. On garde une tête stoïque alors qu’on prie intérieurement pour que la Visa passssee encore une toute dernière fois.
Alors que chez moi, j’adore l’excitation derrière mon écran lorsque j’appuie sur la touche “passez la commande”. J’hésite, je tergiverse, check mon compte en banque 6 fois, culpabilise, referme la page, regrette, ouvre la page à nouveau, et hop avec des papillons au ventre, j’achète! yeahhhah!

A titre perso je suis souvent sur les classiques pas trop chers pour les achats en ligne : Forever 21, Zara & co. Et Modcloth, pour le côté un peu vintage mais pas trop. Pas encore passé le cap des jolies pièces un peu plus coûteuses en eshop, je ne sais pas pourquoi – peut-être parce que je n’aime pas trop devoir retourner les choses.
A titre pro et perso pour les chaussures, c’est Melvin & Hamilton évidemment !

I used to be AGAINST e-shopping, thinking someone’s just waiting in the wings to hack into my account or steal my identity. However, I do find the best DEALS online. So as the religious shopper that I am, I give in and BUY. Who cares if someone else will be going by my name and I happen to find a few unaccountable dollars missing in my next bank statement, I bought that Angora sweater for $19.99! With all jokes aside (and by the way,my identity is still my own and all dollars are accounted for in my statement), e-shopping is addicting and somewhat competitive. I find that the inhibitions I have about brick-and-mortar shopping like trying things on or waiting in line, perhaps even encountering bad customer service or rack-hogging customers, are not factors of online shopping. But like all things, there are down sides to browsing online. For example, you need to be QUICK! If you sit and browse as though you are lingering the sales floor or are an indecisive shopper,more often than not someone straight up stole something from your shopping bag. Poof! Just like that and it’s gone. Surely, this will not happen at an actual store! (I’m implying that I obviously shop for bargains, usually in the sale section, where pieces are limited or the only one left, which is even more of a thrill for me!) With all that being said, Zara has the best sale deals online plus unlimited free shipping. I’m in Pacific Time here in California and I find that they update their sale section between 12 to 2 in the morning my time. So in short, online shopping is timeless- a person can shop rather than sleep, which can be a good or a bad thing.

You look for the store that you want to shop in, & click on the link which takes you to your chosen site. Shop away, and you get a percentage of your purchase price back from ebates or lucky rewatds. I have a 200.00 check coming to me soon! Sephora, yoox.com, shopbop.com, and even barneys.com is on both of them! I’m all over the place when it comes to online shopping! I’m constantly keeping an eye out for that special item. I’m a big thrifter, my closet consists of about 90% vintage/thrift clothing. Since I work around the clock I don’t have much time to visit the thrift stores (plus most are picked through these days)
I shop in bed with my ipad 2 hrs before bedtime. Because I own a shop on etsy I like to support my peers! There are some incredible vintage and handmade pieces on etsy! I often buy on asos, because there’re a lot of cute things, and it’s not expensive. They delivery is perfect. I like to shop on Sephora, too. Net-à-Porter is great but very expensive, they have the greatest shoes but I have problems with the shoe size, and I must try shoes on (sometimes I’m an italian 36, sometimes a 37).

Go for Etsy! I spend hours window-shopping in there… I find it to be the best place to find the seasons’ trends in different ways from the ones we see everyday in the streets. The sad part is that I can’t really just buy there and be happy – since Brazilian post-office service SUCKS, buying from foreign e-shops has 90% of chance of becoming a big headache.
Another good place to buy clothing is from korean/chinese stores. They have some weird stuff along with the cute products, but the prices are so low it makes you want to buy everything, including the bear-shapped flip-flops.
