Antique Furniture Shops to Follow on Instagram

Last year we noticed the trend of vintage clothing shops popping up across Instagram. Now, we’re here to tell you that the movement has expanded to antique furniture shops–in a big way. As some of us in the studio have been moving/ redecorating of late, we’ve decided to scour Instagram and share our favorites with you all! The best part? It’s as easy as DM-ing to purchase and most spots will handle delivery logistics and even accept Venmo! It’s a brave new world out there for the interior-design-minded. Go follow, hunt, DM, and decorate!

@ClaudeHome

claude

Claude Home is run by our very dear friend, Maggie! What Maggie does so well is: find unique pieces made from special materials with cool, eye-catching, clean lines. In need of a marble coffee table? A Murano glass lamp? A mother-of-pearl vase? Claude Home is your place. Her eye tends towards the more minimal, but she’s always quick to highlight a quirky detail and truly impressive workmanship.

@DobbinStCoop

dobbin

Dobbin St. Co-op is a vintage furniture marketplace with an impressive Instagram following and three IRL spaces in Brooklyn. They receive new pieces daily and do an impeccable job of keeping their digital followers informed, quickly answering questions about specific dimensions, pricing, colors, etc. I’m, personally, obsessed with their assortment of colorful velvet couches. What I really love about Dobbin St. Co-op is that they’re not so swayed by the oft-intense fixation on mid-century, austere aesthetics (hello everyone and their Eames chairs!), and are down to have some fun and play with pattern to create a welcoming, eclectic environment.

@HomeUnion

home union

The founders of Home Union, husband-and-wife duo, Daniel King and Meghan Lavery, believe that “vintage is the future.” A concept that is really quite beautiful when you think about it–talk about full-circle moments, sustainability, and nostalgia! :) What is also really cool about Home Union’s founders is that they come from wood-working and fashion-design backgrounds, respectively. So, their combined knowledge of materials + design + style creates a really unique point of view for their shop. Their focus is on mid-century with additional picks from the 1970s and ‘80s. And their flare for colorful touches and unexpected pairings (while still achieving a clean vision) sets them apart in the scene.

@ComingSoonNY

coming soon

Coming Soon is truly a fun account to follow. Beyond having straight-up amazing pieces, they also produce visually-exciting photoshoots by staging them in situation with props (including the cutest fluff-ball pup you’ve ever seen)! The result is gorgeous visual imagery that is sure to brighten up and liven up your feed. And, the furniture itself happens to be really cool. Their pieces carry an off-beat quality that immediately draws you in. The founders have a side-business of collaborating directly with artists AND curating vintage collections for special exhibitions and hotels. They also give us a sneak peek into the chic homes of their customers on their website!
