My friends, I’ve discovered the most amazing thing and I know what you’re going to tell me:
Seriously, we’ve been telling you about it for the past 12,000 years. Where have you been, Garance?
Well, It all started when I lopped off all my hair.
Oooookay, don’t get all crazy on me. I’m not as gutsy as you think.
I cut some off, like, to the shoulders. Longer than in the illustration. Change without changing, the thrill without the risk, new inventions of the same thing, yeppppp, worse than a presidential election, totally boring.*
But still, I cried a little** when I got back to my house. The texture had changed and it was totally weird. It was 12 times more frizzy and I needed to work on it for like 8 and a half hours *** to make them look, let’s say…Ok.
The problem is, 8 and a half hours later, it’s time to go to bed. Crap. My hair was almost looking good and tomorrow morning, after my shower, I’ll have to start all over again.
Yes, I wash my hair every day. I know it’s not supposed to be good for you but I just can’t do it any other way. If my hair isn’t clean it’s all I can think about all day.
It’s the worst.
So I had no intentions WHATSOEVER of spending 8 and a half hours on my hair.
And that’s when I came across my golden ticket, MY DISCOVERY OF THE YEAR : Dry shampoo. I know. It’s been 12,000 years since we first started hearing about it. So as I listen to you a little, I had bought some Klorane dry shampoo on a full moon (???) but since I’m not the greatest listener, I forgot all about it in my beauty closet. But with that, believe me, I remembered.
From now on, I’m going to listen to every word you say.
So I did what it said, gobbed it on to the roots and had white hair like Karl Lagerfeld. I got a little scared, no lies told, then brushed it out and had my hair sticking straight out like Robert Smith. I got a little more scared (this stuff gives some crazy volume) and then just like that, everything fell back in place and my hair looked amazing.
Like, not at all its usual texture, but super amazing and great. It was thicker, had more body, yet was lighter and a lot less curly. It took weird but had INTERESTING shape and I liked it.
Love. Glory. Beauty.
And with that think I won’t have to wash my hair everyday !!!
Aaaaaah, no seriously. I feel like 2012 is going to be a really interesting hair year.

Moi le shampoing sec (le meilleur c’est le sephora by the way, le klorane s’en va pas super facilement) c’est avant de sortir quand j’ai les cheveux pas super, parceque de toutes façons en rentrant avec la fumée de cigarette etc… faut relaver avant d’aller au lit !

Impossible de compatir à ta dépressance, ça ressemble à un sketch trop drôle de Harpo le frisé ! Naan ne me hais pas tout de suite … j’ai des excuses, des cheveux de chinoise tellement raide (épis et compagnie) je rêve évidemment de boucles en cascade qui font CE QU’ELLES VEULENT … free style … le shampoing sec j’y crois pas à ce truc, c’est dég, ça tombe etc …

Le shampooing sec, c’est mon sauveur certains jours, depuis un trek en Amérique du Sud, il y a 15 ans. La randonnée durait trois jours, et il me fallait a-bso-lu-ment une solution pour nettoyer mes cheveux ;-)

Dry shampoo is a life-saver – and you should know that Bumble & Bumble and probably other brands) do a darker coloured one for brunettes! Not tried it, since I’m blonde, but…
Hahaha. Cutting your hair a little is very daring, I tried it once and cried for a week. So I understand. I still have to try the dry shampoo, interesting that it gives you different shape & texture. Love the story! xoxo
I know what you mean, I wash my hair every day… I can’t stand the idea of having a shower without washing your hair… that’s why I know about the dry shampoo but I’m still skeptical about it!

Garance plus tu te laves les cheveux tous les jours plus tu les graisses!! c’est connus ça! faisait pareil et j’ai decouvert les shampoings John Freida ils sont super! c’est la révolution et mes cheveux sont super brillants et tiennent longtemps…tu devrais essayer!!c’est super…..le shampoing sec Klorane est le mieux je l’utilise toujours depuis des annees en voyage………mais essais Freida tu me diras ce que tu en penses. tu peux les trouver à NY sans probleme.
Great story! I just cut my hair quite short (ala Gwyneth Paltrow circa late ’90s) and I love it, but I could use more volume, so I will definitely try the dry shampoo – especially now that you’ve endorsed it, Garance! ;)

Je partage ta dépressance liée à une problématique métaphysique capillaire reposant sur la dialectique hégelienne du maître (ta tignasse) et de l’esclave (toi).
Ma touffe brune (enfin plus trop parce que des petits envahisseurs blancs colonisent mon scalp) relève de la catégorie des Ni-Ni (Ni raide – Ni frisée). On pourrait aussi la classer dans la catégorie des Mi-Mi (Mi raide – Mi frisée). Enfin, bon, un vrai drame existenciel. Du coup le shampooing devient une épreuve de force dont le résultat est improbablement aléatoire. Je m’explique. Sois ma tignasse boucle joliment (mouais, rarement et que les semaines de 4 jeudis), sois elle boucle salement (les semaines de 7 jours). Enfin, bon tout ça pour dire que mon lisseur est mon meilleur ami (quand j’ai le temps). Je l’ai découvert après une catastrophe capillaire qui m’a fait perdre toute ma matière (pas la grise, enfin je crois pas) et qui m’a fait pleurer pendant…3 années de queues de rat! Pas vraiment amour gloire et volupté…

Don’t you just go ‘yuck’ when you go through your hair with your fingers after using that dry shampoo? I love both the texture and the comfort it provides as much as you do, but in the end… Yuck! So in the end, I only use it when I sail and there is just no possible way to wash my hair.

And as for the dry shampoo, YES! I’m totally with you. I discovered it when I had an ear infection and couldn’t get water in my ears, washing my hair was such a horrible chore that I had to find another solution. And I loved what the dry shampoo did to the texture too! Check it out here:

Le shampooing sec j’ai testé il y a des années… c’est vrai que aprés 2 jours ca gratte… et puis éliminer cette poudre parfaitement c’est impossible il en reste toujours un peu quelque part, ce qui fait qu’on a l’impression d’avoir des pellicules sur les vêtements, donc terminé à tout jamais…
En plus les poumons ne doivent pas trop aimer d’avaler cette poudre par inhalation
Dry shampoo can be a life-saver for sure. Just be sure not to use it too often cause the buildup can be gross. And please post a photo of your new look :)
I love that you cut your hair, I think many of us women get gutsy around the end of the year and think “this year, I’m cutting it all off” only to chicken out at the last minute.

8heures et demie pour 150 000 cheveux, ça fait quand m^me 17 647 cheveux à l’heure, soit 295 à la minute, soit 5 à la seconde. Franchement, tu m’épates.

Ba oui je veux voir une photo avec ta nouvelle coupe de cheveux. Cela me motivera peut être a aller chez mon coiffeur.
Je le deteste parceque la dernière fois, il m’a clairement fait comprendre que mes cheveux long était totalement morts et qu’il fallait que je pense serieusement à les couper au niveau des épaules.

Pour la petite histoire, ce Noel en visite chez mes parents, j’ai demandé à ma mère de me couper deux centimètres de la longueur de mes cheveux, parce que j’arrivais pas à me décider d’aller chez le coiffeur, parce que il y en de plus en plus à qui je ne fais pas confiance. Bon, jusque là je faisais encore confiance à ma mère. Nous nous sommes mis d’accord sur les deux centimètres. Le résultat? Quand je me suis retournée pour vérifier sur le sol la solidité de notre entente, j’ai vu sous la chaise, éparpillés en demi-cercle, des bouts de mes cheveux de dix centimètres!!
Le pire c’est que les gens me disent maintenant: c’est même mieux qu’avant :)))

You should try Serge Normant dry shampoo – it’s sold at Barneys and the best I’ve ever tried! The smell is lovely and doesn’t give that white powdery effect. I have super limp, thin hair and all I do to it after I wash it is shoot a little Serge at the roots and poof! Perfect!

Aaahhh le shampoing sec!!! J’avoue c’est une copine qui m’en a parlé il y a quelques mois et depuis ma vie a été r-é-v-o-l-u-t-i-o-n-n-é-e. Je ne sais pas comment je vivrai sans maintenant. En tout cas c’est clair que se laver les cheveux tous les jours est très mauvais, tous les dermatos te le diront : ça favorise l’excès de sébum… Mais le shampoing sec est là pour sauver nos cuirs chevelus! Pour s’éviter l’effet blanc il ne faut pas pulvériser trop près et fixement mais essayer de faire comme si on se mettait de la laque, en faisant un mouvement un peu rapide, ça marche tout aussi bien.

C’est marrant ça j’ai exactement fait la même chose ce matin. Le shampooing sec de Klorane est mon meilleur ami depuis des années, des fois après le brossage je rajoute une goute d’un produit miracle que je conseille à tout le monde “ELIXIR ULTIME” de Klorane pour redonner de la brillance. Le shampoing sec pour les brunes ayant parfois tendance à ternir la matière :-)

J’aime beaucoup aussi la petite histoire des cheveux et les doutes qui l’accompagnent… sachant que j’émets un sérieux doute sur la capacité d’un homme, même un homme exceptionnellement intégré dans le monde de la mode,… à développer de véritable stratégies capillaires pour les femmes de son entourage…
Quant au shampoing secs, cela me rappelle trop les funestes expériences liées à des opérations et l’attente impatiente de pouvoir réellement me laver les cheveux. Bref, ce n’est pas très glamour!

Je suis une adepte du shampooing sec, il y a toujours un spray qui traîne dans mon tiroir de bureau entre deux post it :)
Lors de mon dernier passage à NY, j’ai testé celui de Bumble & Bumble pour brune (je suis brune), et pas mal du tout! Existe aussi pour blond, black and white hair… ça évite l’effet poudre blanche.

bumble & bumble’s hair powder is my favorite of the dry shampoos – because it comes in color so you can totally avoid that white hair issue with the other sprays. granted, it’ll get your fingertips dirty when you first spray, but do worth it. also gives the best volume/hold of any i’ve tried.

I too, would love to see a picture of your new haircut! My hair is shoulder length now and I love it, it feels very modern after a decade of long hair. Also, am curious, how often do you practice yoga, daily?
so about this “washin-my-hair-everyday-or-i-feel-dirty-thing”: i can not wash my hair for like 4 days and you wouldn’t see or smell or guess (i asked my friends and believe me:they are hurfully honest). I have curls (a little like your texture) and after washing them it’s like they think: lets go crazy and have a party…and they are not even going to the same party. The next day the look way better! I also love that you cut your hair. I wear mine short with a bang (yes curly bang, very baby in dirty dancing)(you can see it on my twitter) and love it! You should be bold next time and cut an inch more. Tears dry!

Garance, je suis ravie que t’en parles parce que justement le shampoing sec a changé ma vie de fille à cheveux gras. Oui il rend les cheveux ternes quand on en met trop, oui c’est difficile à enlever cette saloperie, oui on ressemble à cruella pdt le temps de pose, mais ce truc a juste changé ma vie!
Garance…the way you tell a story is priceless!!! I can’t relate to the dry shampoo bit (I’m black) but I can sure relate to the haircut dilemma. So I decided to stop wearing my weave and wear my natural (no process) hair…I had the greatest fauxhawk…but my natural hair is sooo super-thick that I decided I needed just a wee bit of texturerizer to make it more manageable…BIG MISTAKE!! My hair is now totally processed on the strands nearest to my scalp and the ends have an afro…I look like Bozo the clown after he stuck his hand in a socket. So now my dilemma…do I do a Sinead O’conner, wear braids (and here there are a plethora of choices) or go back to my trusty weave?? Ahh the decisions we have to make about hair!!!
OK, c’est pas la trouvaille du siècle et ma dernière utilisation remonte à l’hôpital pour avoir l’air à peu près présentable.
Mais là d’un coup, ton dessin, la façon dont tu en parles, ben on dirait oui, que tu as découvert l’Amérique (c’est chouette l’Amérique ?) et j’ai grande envie d’essayer aussi, même si j’ai les cheveux longs et lisses et un coiffeur adepte du no poo entre autres sectes bizarroïdes…
Ouais, je vais essayer ! Tu as le don de donner l’envie… toujours.

Hey.. I wash my hair everyday too and can’t do it any other way either! The only time that I had to not wash my hair everyday was when I was hospitalized for 5 days. That was when I had to use dry shampoo. I agree, it was a great product.. but it still didn’t convert me. I still wash my hair the regular way everyday. With my short hair right now, what I have to do is lift all my hair up on the pillow when I sleep. Completely lift them all up until it doesn’t have any dent. When I wake up in the morning.. it’s perfect. I guess everyone will eventually find their own secret when it comes to hair and beauty maintenance :)
Certains diraient que c’est un sujet superficiel et pourtant, on se lave tous les jours donc 365 fois potentiellement les cheveux (polémique sur tous les jours ou pas, un ou deux shampoings d’affilé) : sujet pas anodin du tout. Surtout pour les cheveux bouclés :p

Right now i’m using John Frieda luxurious volume dry shampoo.
It’s great for fine hair like mine and does a good job of reviving flat hair.
Dry shampoo has come a long way and i’ll probably try some other ones
that your readers have recommended.

Garance, cherie, my best friend also decided to cut her long hair a while back but she cut it into a crop :( that didn’t suit her and I had to tell her that she looked cute. She is back to her long-haired glory now, just slightly below the shoulders .)
And can I recomend a Percy & Reed dry shampoo and conditionner to you? They are awesome, I got quite a few of my girlfriends hooked on them and by the way their whole range of hair products est fantastique, les produits arrive dans deux taille-normalles et petits pour voyager dans ton sac de beaute .)

Try to be patient! It can take quite a while to come to terms with a big chop. I just cut my hair to a pixie from very long a while ago and had to hide my distress from my boyfriend, who wasn’t so keen on the idea. If he knew how much I was hurting I would have never heard the end of his laughter. After a bit I figured out how to style it (too easy!) and the compliments started rolling in. Happy days. So, when you are ready and confident I know we would all LOVE to see a pic.

Ah! le shampooing sec!
N’est-ce pas la façon que nos ancêtres des 17e et 18e siècle s’entretenaient les cheveux?
Et oui!
Pourtant on attribue à nos ancêtres des cheveux gras, sales, lourds et sentant fort mauvais. Sans oublier l’image qui veux que l’utilisation de poudre (shampooing sec) faisait des croûtes et attirait les souris.
Vraiment?
Bien sûr que non!
Et l’utilisation de plus en plus courante du shampooing sec est là pour le prouver.
Pour ma part, j’ai utilisé une recette de poudre (shampoing sec) façon 1750 pendant dix jours. Vous voulez voir le résultat?

i wash my hair everyday too and to be honest i don’t know if i can make the switch to dry shampoo! i might need to try it. hmmmm you’ve got me on a mission now!

I know exactly what you mean. I CANNOT stand dirty hair. I have to wash it everyday or else I feel gross. I’ll have to give dry shampoo a chance now!
Try Oscar Blandi’s dry shampoo (smells like jasmine–divine! And a great travel size for those overnight flights) –I use it before bed. Spray it on, fluff your hair a bit but don’t brush it out. Let it work overnight and you’ll have gorgeous hair the next morning. I also love Oribe’s Dry Texturizing Spray for perfect messy beachy cool girl hair.
Dry shampoo has at some point in time blown everyone away!

J’ai les cheveux tellement fins (et ondulés) que, les jours sans shampoing (mouillé), je profite du shampoing sec pour me faire des coiffures qui d’habitude ne tiennent pas une heure, c’est une merveille, enfin, Garance!!

moi aussi ça fait trés longtemps que je veux essayer, il parait qu’il y a des shampoing sec pour cheveux brin, pour éviter l’effet KL ;)

Moi aussi je suis allée chez le coiffeur, il a voulu les effiler, car mes cheveux sont trés épais, mais cette épaisseur (le poids) me permet de lutter contre le volume… demain je les lave !! je sens que je vais me mordre les doigts de les avoir coupés !!
Si qqun connais un trés bon coiffeur sur Paris, je suis preneuse… (pour cheuveux volumineux ascendant champignon atomique)

Je ne me lave pas les cheveux tous les jours et je ne les trouve pas sales pour autant, ça doit être un psychologique tout ça, au contraire, je les trouve beaucoup plus beaux les 2ème et 3ème jours. mais bon, je n’habite pas une très grande ville très polluée, je n’ai pas les cheveux gras et je ne transpire quasiment pas.
j’ai tenté mais bof bof…je me suis retrouvée avec les cheveux genre Einstein mais en version décérébré donc je suis vite passer sous la douche!!! en revanche j’ai laissé tomber l’eau sur le visage et me retrouve avec la peau plus veloutée..c’est déjà pas mal!! Pace e saluta pour 2012!!
Garance, c’est pareil avec moi et mon mec – ah, pardon, mon époux (on est mariés depuis sept mois déjà, mais il m’est toujours bizarre de l’appeller comme ça)… enfin, j’ai fait couper mes cheveux il y a deux ou trois mois déjà, toujours comme toi, la meme situation, je te le jure. je le fais laver tous les deux jours, parce que sinon, j’ai l’impression qu’ils sont sales. il y a des jours quand je les aime, mais aussi des jours quand je les voudrais tout longs. pardonne-moi le français, en fait je suis roumaine. I was very skeptical about dry shampoo myself, until I cut my hair just the length of the illustration and it got as curly as that too. I also went blonde and I found that with the help of the dry shampoo I could go longer with the roots too because it gives you such a lift.
Now I am back to my natural very dark brunette (and hate the white hair, besides, I still need to touch up roots just as often as I did with blonde hair because of the white hair, but had never thought of the inconvenience that when you put dark dye over dark dye, even if it’s the same hue, your ends end up being really very very dark, which I don’t like, but anyway) and I still continued using it, until one day my hairdresser told me that dry shampooing is the worst thing you can do to your hair because it’s so chemical and so detrimental to it. And then I stopped. But to be hones, I never really had a bad experience with dry shampoo. I just listened to my hairdresser.
Now as I read your post, I’ve remembered about my Klorane which lies hidden in a bathroom drawyer somewhere. I was so not into washing my hair yesterday morning. It was like -20 Celsius here. Yet I did. I’m going to the pharmacy to buy a new Klorane now. Thank you, Garance.
You are so beautiful and young and fresh that you will look good with any haircut. Besides, crazy people’s hair and nails grow faster, you know. And you seem quite on the crazy side to me, just like my poor self, so no worries. Cut as low as you wish :)))

Garance! Je me permets de te donner un petit conseil: moi aussi je suis assez fan du shampoing sec car effectivement il donne une autre texture aux cheveux et leur donne des formes un peu bizarre ;) mais je te conseille de ne le pas le prendre en spay mais en pot normal (le Klorane est super) et tu n’en mets qu’un tout petit peu sur une raie que tu traces a cote de celle naturellement créée par tes cheveux (je ne sais pas si je l’explique très très bien mais bon je continue…) et tu frottes juste et tu vas voir c’est trop canon parce que je ne sais pas pour toi mais avant je mettais 15 ans à enlever les traces blanches laissées par la poudre…
vite une photo de tes nouveaux cheveux, et racontes nous aussi quand tu auras un peu de temps cette histoire d’award! :)

So this past June, on my 40th birthday, I thought getting a hair cut would be a great idea. I had been trying to grow is out and it was chin length – just needed a trim, if you please.
She chopped it all off. I kept thinking, well, maybe it’s really not that short, maybe she’s just trimming it really, really well. I sat there totally stunned. The stylist grinned and said, “what do you think?” I told her I looked like my mother-in-law and hated it.
I came home and cried on my husband’s shoulder for an hour and then spent the next 4 months frustrated with a bad hair cut and scared to go to a salon to do anything about it.
I’m happy to report, it’s now a cute bob, about chin length and I have a new stylist. Lesson learned – DO NOT get a hair cut on important birthdays! &&& it always grows back!

mais le shampoing sec … hum…méfiance. c’est comme si j’annonçais, petite, à ma mère que “je me suis lavée les mains à l’eau” (comprendre “sans savon”, ce qui implique une impitoyable réponse du style “l’eau n’a jamais lavé, il faut du savon”)
Donc là j’ai un peu peur d’avoir l’impression d’agglutiner le sale + texture mousseuse = mayonnaise capillaire.

I think between shoulders and chin is a great length, very chic. I haven’t tried the dry shampoo, all though I am the last person on earth to do so apparently, and I have thick hair like yours Garance. I put on a hotel freebie shower cap and cover the hair but then the roots on my hair line get washed/wet, and it seems to freshen things.
That and Santa Baby brought me a ton of various Kersastase products – the Elixir Ultime smells like Boucheron, or something wonderful!
Now, if I only I could sketch as well as Garance!

Wait, all I can think about is this one statement – “then brushed it out” – and how did that end well??? Do you really brush your dry curly hair with successful results?? I can recall only one time I brushed my dry curly hair and it was for Weird Hair day in high school, I need to know more about this approach…

is fine. It works well for reviving flat hair but i’m willing to try some of the
others your readers recommended.
Your illustrations just keep getting better and better. From the sound of it, you have the same kind of hair I had when I was your age. It’s wonderful. Enjoy it! The tough thing about curly hair is that once you get into shorter layers — which hairdressers always love for me — it takes a very long time to grow out. I would love a bob like the one in your illustration, but even at that length it would take some time for the layers to grow.
And, yeah, dry shampoo has been around since I was a child in the 1960’s. I remember my mom bringing some home for me.

Ah, que ça console de savoir que je ne suis pas seule dans l’espèce des Ni-Ni/Mi-Mi. Mieux : cette espèce a enfin un nom !
Certes, cela ne résout en rien le psychodrame que je vis périodiquement lorsque, en phase pré-menstruelle ou sous l’effet d’un coup de stress, ma chevelure s’obstine à être bouclée sur les longueurs et d’une désolante platitude sur le dessus de la tête.
Et dans ce cas, hélas, le lisseur ou fer à boucler ni fait rien. Il aggrave même la situation en ternissant mes cheveux.
J’ai bien essayé une fois ou deux de remédier à ce qu’il me restait de reflets en utilisant un soin brillance. Catastrophe ! En plus d’être toujours aussi ternes et plats, mes cheveux sont devenus poisseux et mon blond botticcellien dont on me félicite tant a lamentablement viré au roux queue de vache (c’est joli, une chevelure rousse, mais pas une toison de charolaise).
Bref, tout cela pour dire que ces déconvenues capillaires me rendent réticente à tenter le shampooing à sec.
En fait, ce billet de Garance ravive en moi ce douloureux doute : existe-t-il des femmes que leurs cheveux ne tourmentent jamais, qui ne connaissent pas l’expérience de la désillusion après un shampooing qui avait suscité tant d’espoirs de beauté, qui ne se demandent jamais pourquoi elles ont l’air d’un caniche mouillé même quand elles se sont protégées sous un parapluie par temps de crachin, qui après un seul coup de brosse le matin arborent toute la journée durant un sublime coiffé-décoiffé ?
Ces femmes-là existent-elles ? Ou bien suis-je simplement comme toutes les autres ?
Quelqu’un peut-il me donner l’adresse d’une centre pour MCA (Mal Coiffées Anonymes) pour me désintoxiquer de mes obsessions capillaires ? Ma mère a beau me dire : fiche-leur la paix à tes cheveux, ils sont beaux naturellement, la moindre mèche rebelle me met dans un état de panique.
Oh pitié, évite d’employer des mots qui n’existent pas en français comme “depressance”, c’est insupportable… même si tu vis à NY, tu connais encore la langue!

Dry shampoo!! …remembers me of a summer camp survival style – we were a bunch of 13-year-olds and the only thing which guaranteed surviving this camp with some “teenage style dignity” was a can of shared dry shampoo!
Moroccan Oil- it is an amazing product for all hair. You put some on the ends when your hair is soaking wet. It absorbs so fast and doesnt make your hair oily at all- just keeps it shiny and beautiful.
Je me lave aussi les cheveux tout les jours… c’est mal, tout le monde me le dis, mais c’est devenu une habitude, j’ai horreur qu’il soit plaqué sur le crâne (j’ai les cheveux lisse et comme disent shampooing : tendance a régressé !) Bref j’ai jamais essayé le shampooing sec… un peu peur que se soit encore PIRE !!?

Garance you would like the American hair care brand Living Proof…..I sell it at my work here in Australia, its actually created by professors at MIT and it doesn’t have any sulfates, silicone or oils etc. Its based on this new ingredient they’ve created and it actually deflects dirt, so I don’t have to wash my hair every day any more- now its every two to three! Its amazing, you should look it up. x

Please post a picture! i think you’re brave anyway for cutting your hair short-but-not-too-short. I would love to do a pixie cut but since my hair is almost to my waist, i’m too scared! I have plans to shave my head to raise money for the cancer foundation though……eek!

I just had the exact same experience, dry shampoo is my saviour, since I hate showering everyday (but that’s exactly what I’ve done since I was like, 12, or something.)
A few weeks ago I made an appointment to have my rather long hair cut to just shoulder length. I am tiring of the time and effort it takes to style it each day, and even putting that aside, I think I am over it being all long and same same. But now I am worrying about it as the date comes closer. Will I? Won’t I? I have not had it short for over 2o years. No amount of imaginings will help me work out if I will like it or be sorry…but I have no doubt it will be a liberation of sorts!

Je découvre ton blog et y découvre surtout des sujets d’une haute importance qui me touchent tout particulièrement :-)
Les cheveux par exemple et là, je vais t’arrêter tout de suite : quand une femme à les cheveux longs va savoir pourquoi, tous les 5 ans (c’est mon cas) en feuilletant un ELLE magazine ou autres, elle se dit : ‘tiens je me couperais bien les cheveux…’
En ce qui me concerne, tous les 5 ans, j’oublie à quel point j’ai pleuré quand, 5 ans auparavant, je me suis découverte les cheveux courts, désemparées avec mes watt mille lotions capillaires qui n’ont, soudain, plus aucun effets sur mes cheveux courts.
Le coiffeur ne devrait servir uniquement à couper nos pointes abîmées. Parfaitement !
Sinon, ce we, je tente le shampoing sec…
