Jenna Lyons On Etiquette / Love Style Life

8 years ago by

Aaaaaaah, Jenna. I’m not going to lie, in the last few years, Jenna has become one of my dearest friends. She’s one of the greatest girls in the world — she’s funny, humble, sweet, loyal, and fantastic. And she’s got an insane wardrobe, where we sometimes spend hours together.

On top of all of that, she’s great when it comes to helping her poor little lost French friend get by in New York society. Jenna is the queen of modern elegance, and I can’t even count the number of desperate texts I’ve sent her (“How should I respond to this email? Should I send flowers? When?”) So I thought she would be absolutely perfect for answering my questions about elegance in Love Style Life. Here are her responses, in the video.

  • Good Intention is the key world for doing all good…….so even if you do a mistake it’s forgiven…Jenna has the hard work of teaching the Americans about elegance..which is absolutely Not an american quality they have many greats quality but this one………Elegance and good manners are 2 different things !!good manners you can learn ..if you are lucky to have parents who teach you..or……but elegance is something more natural …you have it or you don’t and it’s not about the dress it’s about the way you walk you are….it’s like a perfume you can ‘t explain…..

  • Elegance isn’t an American quality? Ever heard of Jacqueline Onassis, Grace Kelly, CZ Guest, and Diana Vreeland among others?

  • I know plenty of truly elegant Americans. Elegant people don’t often push to be noticed, however, so perhaps this is why you haven’t noticed them.

    Bon dimanche, Xxx

    Petite and So What

  • She sounds very nice. What happend to Jcrew, anyway? Their stuff is unwearable.

  • What a gorgeous woman she is ! Such a inspiration !

    xx

  • I love Jenna Lyons. Every interview I saw her she always look so chic but also so nice.

  • Thanks for sharing your talk about elegance-etiquette with Jenna. I’m a huge fan of the hand-written note, too.

  • Jenna’s point if view was spot on. Yes, real thank you notes are still important!

  • I love this interview, it’s great to see more of her personality and style. Are people really not writing cards anymore? I adore handwritten notes, it’s just a nice, simple touch.

  • Oh my goodness! I just found my new great inspiration! I’ve been following J.Crew and drooling over their newsletters for the past few years, but had no idea Jenna is the creative mastermind behind all of this goodness!
Thanks for the fun interview. Just watched another great one as well. Gosh so friendly and elegant. Let’s all be like this! Hooray!

  • I wish she closed one more button on that shirt…. this made me nervous. bit distracting!

  • Beautiful

  • I think Yael is so right with her comment. Jenna seems a lovely person, but did observe she didn’t look at Garance very much when she spoke. Also both grabbed the teacup like it was a flower pot!!!

  • I love this type of educational videos, I really appreciate this elegance tips!

    Quel style fabuleux !

  • Great interview but one small thing ( not that I care) They both have a very elegant teacup in front of them, but sadly both don’t how to elegantly take it by its handle and sip the tea!!!!

All the interviews are great but this one really spoke to me. Plus, Jenna is the style queen….

Ces subtilités me passionnent !

  • She is very nice, thanks for the interview :) !

  • I LOVE her, she’s so chic and smart. She’s the woman I want to be when I grow up! (Even though I’m a grown-up already) Garance, thanks so much for all the inspirations from your around-the-book video interviews! <3
