Would You Wear The Apple Watch?

Would You Wear The Apple Watch?

It feels like, right now, everyone is asking that question!

Probably because it feels like we’re on the brink of Apple’s next phase in world domination. First the iPod, then the iPhone, the iPad… And now the Apple Watch. One more thing that we’re going to need to function in society — and it seems like it has everyone divided.

Some people say it’s ugly, other people can’t wait and have already pre-ordered it (it actually sold out in minutes!). I think it makes sense for people who need to be constantly in touch, those who are constantly in business meetings or situations where a phone might be difficult but they still need to check their email. I plan on resisting, at least in the beginning, since I’m trying to tune out when I can, but who knows how I’ll feel in a few months.

How do you feel about the Apple Watch? Will you be wearing one right away, or taking your time before embracing Apple’s latest phase?

  • I went and looked at it today, it’s really cool but way too expensive,

  • I scheduled to go in Berlin to have it…in Italy we’re still waiting for a date!

  • Your question asks us to choose between “wearing it right away” and “taking the time before embracing it”. How about the alternative of “no thank you, I don’t want it”?
How about the beautiful debate on is it or isn’t it a “slave bracelet”, phrase that Garance used recently in the “Watch me” article?
Or maybe this is just a fashion blog talking fashionable watches?
    I dare you :-)

  • I’m totally there with you on the “no, thank you” front.
I’d prefer to cut down on the social technology stuff and have it rather not take over my body (looking at you too Google Glass!).

  • I try to tune out whenever I can so this would be like a ball and a chain again! So Definetly No!

  • I’m not into technology, well not this much, but they are very pretty :)

  • i feel like it’s the new fashion statement. I already ordered mine, I can’t wait to wear it!

  • God Apple… Or how a brand brainwatch so-called educated and free-spirited people to make them buy useless -but expensive-commodities and make them addicted to what they didn’t need before Apple created them… In 21 century! I bet they will create connected toilet seats. Very useful for busy minds.

  • Haha, that’s funny! I bet those self flushing and talking toilets they apparently have in Japan have both wifi and a monitor already! I just bring my iPad to the bathroom with me, if I feel the urge… No thanks on the Apple watch!

  • It’s funny, as a kid pretending to be Nancy Drew, I often wished my watch were a Walkie Talkie and soon this dream might be realized;) I’m in the market for a GPS sportswatch and was considering the new Garmin Vivoactive which sends notifications from your phone but I’m of the mind that when I am running I don’t wish to be interrupted by such things.

  • I probably won’t buy one but it seem intriguing. Every time I think of it, I’m confronted with mental images of Power Ranger “communicators”, which I think I could get used to.

    THE FASHANN MONSTER

  • If someone gave me one I’d use it/wear it, but I don’t need one and for the price I’m passing. I’m addicted to my iPad/MacBook, and I like my iPhone, but I don’t need to be checking in with anyone constantly (nor do I want to). For now my Fitbit is the only watch I need.

  • LOL ! same here. Apple is morphing into a kingdom, where its worshippers obviously have the need to purchase any new “connected” items/commodities. Actually, in my world, nobody mentions the need to buy the Apple watch. I’m sure, Apple will launch a new 1.1 version soon and an another one next year , and son on and on. So maybe it would be wiser for the ultra-busy-connected ones to save money and wai … Until Apple new-connected big thing to get… er no, to need (a hyped connected/cloud toilet seats or iron).

J’adore ! “Quand les poules auront des poils !!!! ”
Et tout pareil ! C’est pas demain l’avant veille !

  • Florence April, 16 2015, 1:51

  • I’ll not be buying one. I love my Apple kit but feel they’re heading for ‘tech for the sake of it’ and losing their touch. The company seems to be trying to force us all to think like Tim Cook and removing our control of our apps and dumbing them down(Photos is dire..).

Have a nice day

  • I love technology and apple products, but I’ll wait out and see how it goes for early adapters and if I think I’d benefit from it. I have never had an iPad, but now with a European trip planned I know I’ll buy one for that, etc.

    Warm Regards,
    Alexandra

The answer is No, without a doubt.

  • No – because;
    1. it’s ugly
    2. I have an iPhone
    3. I have 2 watches
    4. I’m 50 – the eyes couldn’t do it
    5. I just don’t trust companies anymore, too much stalking.

    Not for me.

On a adoré. :)

  • At this point in life I like being constantly ‘on’, so I was one of these people who preordered it. I like the design, it makes for a nice change for all the other sport gadgets i have to wear :)

No, for two reasons: I’m an Android / Linux girl, and second when it comes to watches I prefer the old-fashioned kind that are analog.

  • Oh please… Everyone needs to lighten up, it’s just fun. It’s technology, it’s what’s happening now. I ordered mine and can’t wait to wear it! I love when Apple comes out with fun stuff…keep up, enjoy it…. Or get left behind!

  • It’s not “just fun” or “fun stuff” if you say one has to “keep up, enjoy it… or get left behind!”

  • I’m hoping it can take the place of my phone. Phones are getting way to big!

Not for me. I refuse to be an iClone.
