The Rope Belt

I went through a serious belt phase in my tweens thinking it was très chic but finally figured out that I didn’t need to wander the earth looking like a miniature middle aged L.L. Bean model.
Also, as my body developed, I became that tricky combo of wider hips and smaller waist making it a real challenge to find flattering pants. Thankfully the low waist trend kicked off with a vengeance and my style and the need for a belt went out the window entirely.
Flash forward to adulthood, a much wider variety of pant styles and my love of the belt has returned! The rope belt may seem like a very specific accessory, but it’s actually quite diverse. It lends the perfect touch of nautical whimsy to almost any ensemble, and can take your pool party cover-up to drinks, dinner, and beyond.
Strung through belt loops or casually wrapped around a dress lends a nice touch of class and style. It’s kind of like that woman who isn’t ready five minutes before her dinner party guests arrive, and she swipes some color on her lips, knots that belt and greets guests barefoot at the door with a cocktail. Très chic.

The rope belt has certain Boho Chic vibes . Often a belt can be the finishing touch to many outfits . If a rope doesn’t work for you try a twisted scarf, or chain belt .

J’ai commencé assez tard à faire attention aux ceintures. Avant je les choisissais plutôt basics. Seulement il y a quelque années j’ai réalisé que ce petit détail peut changer carrément le look ou apporter une petite touche vraiment subtile. La ceinture corde, je la trouve décontractée et chic. Elle apporte de la fraicheur au look. Une bonne idée de la porter avec un pantalon taille haute! La coupe de ce pantalon je trouve, d’ailleurs, absolument sublime! Et j’adore le dégradé des beiges – blancs et la douceur de cette photo! Bravo!
