Let's Talk About...

What Happens in Vegas

I made it back in one piece!

And covered in glitter! Okay, not really. I wish. Not as much glitter as I had hoped…

If you’re planning a trip to Sin City anytime soon, here are a few of my tips!

Learn a little something. And do it at the Neon Museum. You’ll learn the history of Las Vegas through some of the most iconic neon signs on the Strip. You can book a day or night tour (some of the signs still light up!). Don’t miss it. It was seriously the coolest thing I did there.

Shop till you drop. You can do some pretty serious shopping (or in my case, window shopping!) in Vegas. Tom Ford, Prada, Marc Jacobs and a Céline on the way. I would’ve liked to shop some of Liberace’s outfits (on view at The Cosmopolitan) but unfortunately, they aren’t for sale…

Eat good food. The most overwhelming part of my trip wasn’t the flashing lights and the bandage dresses, it was trying to decide where to eat every night. BECAUSE VEGAS HAS EVERYTHING AND IT JUST ISN’T FAIR. I really enjoyed dinner at China Poblano my first night (get the tuna ceviche and the Brussels sprouts). And I feel like you should eat a burger. There are about a million gourmet burger joints.

See a show. Okay, I’m a little biased because I only saw Britney. But listen!! It was pretty great…even if she’s not really singing up there (I’ll let you be the judge). Can we call it a comeback? (Also, the fountains at The Bellagio…you can’t miss that performance. A free show! Every 15 minutes!)

Treat yo’ self. Go to the spa. It’s likely that your hotel will have one, and for a pretty small fee you’ll be able to access the steam rooms and spa pools…don’t underestimate the power of a steam room!

I spent a little time at the Sahra Spa at The Cosmopolitan and it was total bliss. I got the Red Flower Hammam Treatment and now I want to install a Hammam in my apartment…

Emily and Garance are both fans of the spa at the Mandarin Oriental.

Dance like no one is watching. It’s a little weird texting a stranger about getting you on a list at da club, but connecting with a promoter is the easiest way to go out (if you don’t plan on bottle service, or if you aren’t Beyoncé). The first night out was on a Wednesday, so things weren’t as crowded/crazy but still pretty crowded and crazy. Lights, lasers, dancers in costumes (I saw one dressed as a rabbit, hopping around), bottles of Dom with sparklers burning, lots of VBC (visible butt cheek), EDM and plastic cups full of Svedka and pineapple. Sounds like a dream land, right?

My sister and I attempted to go out again on Friday and after seeing a line that was literally half a mile long of girls also on the list, we decided to pass. If you don’t want to wait in line for half the night, you still have options. We went to 1923, a new burlesque club/speakeasy at Mandalay Bay. There was a Beyoncé number. Enough said.
