Raury On Repeat
9 years ago by
Recently, I have been listening to Raury on repeat.
If you haven’t been introduced, he’s this astounding talented (and super young) musician from Atlanta who has developed a completely unique sound. Influenced by everyone from Bon Iver to Marvin Gaye (and even Queen and Kanye West!), it’s a eclectic blend of soul, folk and hip hop. A total roller coaster of sound that I never want to get off, no matter how many loops it might do on my Spotify account…
I really love this new wave of great musical talent who are pulling away from the typical pop sound and creating their own, often inspired by generations before (a la my beloved, Leon Bridges who I saw last week!!).
Have you heard Raury’s music before? What are you listening to on repeat?
I love your music choices. Keep ’em comin’. I confess that I didn’ t say anything great about Leon Bridges. Then I saw a live session on KCRW. He’s the real thing. I can’t understand why I thought otherwise. Raury’s music is kind, hopeful and melodic. Loved him right away.
wow really like his music

I am beyond obsessed with the soundtrack from the Broadway musical, Hamilton. It’s mostly hip-hop and R&B with some pop. The writing is genius and the music is infectious. And it will give you a whole new, fresh take on American History.
look up an artist named Pell! so good!

I love this music!! Thank you for the introduction!!
Very nice!
In these days I’m listening in loop to Ibey, franco-cuban duo of sisters.
Very young, very talented and with a unique sound (they sing in english and yoruba, their ancestors language).
Their sound is a mix of electronic and cuban music and some soul.
I find them very interesting.
I’ve been following Garance Doré for like 5 years now and this is DEFINITELY the best discovery ever! (okay maybe not ever, I always forget all the things that I discovered before as I keep discovering new things, for that thank you by the way)
Thanks Neada, You’re the BEST <3
