Moroccan Argan Body Oil
6 years ago by
My skin in winter is, without fail, a dry, flaky mess.
Enter one of my favorite things from our retreat in Morocco (second only to meeting our amazing readers): this Argan oil we developed with Jamie from Stories & Objects. Not trying to toot our own horn, but I’ve used a lot of body oils and this one is by far my favorite for the simple fact that it’s not greasy. There’s nothing I hate more than feeling greased up and unable to put on clothes for ages after I’ve put oil on. I’ve unfortunately stained some of my favorite pants this way. But this oil smells heavenly (the argan oil is blended with jasmine and neroli) and it absorbs quickly into the skin leaving my legs soft and supple.
It was also harvested in Morocco just before our retreat—you can read more about the story of how it’s made and the tradition of argan in Morocco here. Just hoping I can ration it enough to then keep my skin tanned and sun kissed this summer!
I have to say I also love the way my skin feels after applying argan oil! So I used it every day this winter until I was getting increasingly worried that my period wouldn’t start. After some googling, it turns out that argan oil is a phytoestrogen, and therefore can mess up the female rhythms. So beware!
