Here are some more tips from Ashley!
– Get ahead of the game and make friends with your local department store shoe sales associate to add your name to the ‘call list’ when larger sizes first arrive.
– Neiman Marcus seems to have the largest selection of size 42s of any department store and the best website search function to find them.
– J.Crew: Carries size 42 in most styles and the ballet flats run generously.
– Saint Laurent: You never thought you might wear men’s shoes until now. Their short boots are slim fitting and, according to their sales person, “unisex”.
– Jimmy Choo: Just launched a made-to-order service and manufacture up to size 43.
– Ancient Greek Sandals: Carries size 42. Order quickly for summer as they take 6-8 weeks to deliver.
– Barbara Shaum: Bespoke leather sandals in whatever size you like! Visit the renowned cobbler in her East Village shop that also functions as her studio.
– Jack Rabbit Sports: Offers women’s running shoes in size 12 and sometimes 13, in various widths.
– Vans & Superga: Classic unisex sneakers.

Je suis très standard en terme de taille de chaussures (37.5-38); Cela dit, c’est vrai, dès que l’on sort du lot, le choix devient fort limité…c’est vrai pour tout, pas seulement pour l’habillement. Vive la standardisation!

Any tips for those with tiny feet? 35’s/2’s? I spend my life setting aside chic adult shoes which are too big and trudging over to the kiddies section hoping for some vaguely adult shoes.
I also find heels look completely ridiculous on tiny feet and don’t really give one much height anyway!

Des jolies sandales qu’on commande à sa mesure avec une belle gamme de modèles et de couleurs : “Lucane”. Ils sont à Villefranche-de-Rouergue. Il y a un site mais on commande à l’ancienne, on peut envoyer une feuille de papier avec le contour de son pied si on doute de sa pointure.
J’ai gardé une paire trente ans (oui, je ne suis pas jeune) sans les ménager.
J’ai ton problème mais à l’envers… je chausse du 35 ! Beaucoup de frustration car peu de marques taillent aussi petit… si vous avez des tuyaux, je suis preneuse ! Merci…
after years of slightly too big and slightly too-small 10 and 11 shoes, i’ve realized that i’m actually a 10.5. but most shoe brands stop making half sizes after 10! what gives?
no way- im an aus 9 which is pretty much the same in America and Vans and Superga make my feet look like long boats and we dont do half sizes either in those brands
