Grounded in LA
8 years ago by
Imagine our delight to find out two very NY shops both opened out west …
as in the sprawling land of sunshine where all good New Yorkers go to get grounded : Los Angeles, California.
Assembly New York, a curated shop of vintage & designer goods on the LES here in NY, has long been a go-to for those seeking unique, yet to be discovered but soon to be loved labels. The new shop keeps those notions in mind while including LA exclusives for brands like Eckhaus Latta and Nomia on the sunny coast, but always keeping rare vintage finds aplenty.
Where The Apartment by The Line in SoHo has since become a destination for cool and perfectly packaged gifts, the LA counterpart makes a case for pretending you know a big art collector and visiting their home. The new space is a bit airier with all the same minimalist picks, ranging from their own homewares brand Tenfold to designer wares from the likes of JW Anderson.
These shops have more than a street name in common too, both shop creators include cool vintage furniture throughout, make their spaces a bit more welcoming and a lot more ideal for hanging out a while.
Just a few more destinations to check off next time you find yourself cruising in lalaLand !
