Getting Structured

I’m starting to rethink how I get dressed…
For me, it’s always about ease, comfort and simplicity but these super structured pieces popping up on the spring runway have got me wanting to move in a new direction.
The collections from Delpozo, Rosie Assoulin, Isa Arfen were full of round, sharp, crisply beautiful garments.
How does one wear those pieces? I won’t be taking the subway, that perfectly sculpted sleeve would be crunched in a minute #forgetaboutit. I’m still trying to figure out how I could wear look 3 from Delpozo to the studio…with a t-shirt underneath that crop top and sneakers?
I’m not giving up yet, and I hope these designers don’t either. I love seeing their collections each season, they are keeping me inspired.

For the kind of life I lead (driving from client to client, then back to work, grocery shopping, picking kids up and needing to be super comfortable), I’d wear the second look of light coloured pants and top. They’re structured without being stuffy, and will still look good even when creased at the end of the day… Only – being as untidy as I am- I’d wear them in deeper shades of indigo or khaki, or burgundy and red and tan.
I found it very complicated to wear it in the streets..nice for fashion show…but not so flattering for our body…

Love them too!
I especially love the first look, something about the sleeves, but I’m sure I would look silly in it. I’ll keep it in mind when I go shopping and see if it cannot inspire something else.

I love the structured looks too!! I think to adopt them to every day life (kind of) one needs to balance the shapes – big + big + a little skin + elegant shoe = sublime (Love Look 2!!) Def can’t do subway with this fashion :/
