Fashion Injuries!

It’s NYFW and I’ve noticed some small injuries, from what I would like to call, “fashion survival of the fittest”.
Spotted a very chic editor sporting the Gucci slippers with an ankle brace and another in some Balenciaga heels with a foot wrap…. I have opted for Nike running sneakers for the last day as my toes are so damaged from trying to be a lady in my heels (a sensible heel, as Erik likes to call them). It has me thinking, were all these fashion injuries necessary?! Were they from running to the shows, or dancing at the after parties? Or perhaps it’s the running from the photographers outside the venue?? (Which, in case you hadn’t noticed, is no longer our lovely Editor in Chief Garance politely asking for a photo).
Or were these not fashion injuries at all, and the truth is we have other lives that inflicted the pain? Either way, I’m impressed that the fashion tribes still carry on, elastic bandage and more…
I can so relate to this. The price of beauty is pain.
i usually limit the time i wear high heels as much as possible: i usually carry the heels in my bag and change into them when i arrive! :)

With uncomfortable and dangerous shoes you don’t need to run or hide from photographers, you can easily sprain an ankle by taking a single slow step. I don’t see why women still do this to themselves. And why don’t men, if we’re so equal?
I had to swear off platform sandals that were the perfect light pink tan when I fell twice downtown walking to my office. I have PTSD with the whole wedge/platform shoe variety now and I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to go back hahaha.
It’s not an easy task to do for sure.
Mais c’est la FW, on sait qu’on va forcément avoir quelques bobos, et peut-être aussi parce que je suis nouvelle, mais je trouve que ça en vaut la peine :)
