A Functional Fragrance

Just before the Thanksgiving holiday, I went to meet with Jules, the Founder of The Nue Co. to hear all about the launch of Functional Fragrance. If you don’t remember from this post, Jules founded the Nue Co., an organic health supplement brand, on the basis of natural remedies. It was a chilly and early morning when I arrived to meet Jules. After the warmest hug and welcome, she launched into questions about my health. How was my immune system? Well, not great considering I was suffering from a sore throat and stuffy nose. How was I sleeping? Actually, surprisingly well. How was my gut health? Dealing with occasional stomach aches, but manageable. Immediately, she started whipping up a matcha latte with oat milk and The Nue Co.’s Probiotic Protein powder mixed in for me to try. It was delish.
Then she brought out Functional Fragrance. It’s The Nue Co.’s new perfume that was developed using research from the Brain & Behavior Laboratory at the University of Geneva into the connection between cognitive function and our senses of smell. An anti-stress supplement and a yummy fragrance all in one?! I was hooked. The scent is woodsy, yet clean–a combo one would think impossible, but is somehow perfect. In the hectic days leading up to traveling home for the holiday, I kept a bottle of the fragrance at my desk and continuously reached for it, to dab onto my wrists, even just to inhale for a moment! The mix of Green Cardamom, Iris, Palo Santo, and Cilantro creates a soothing effect, capable of mentally transporting you away from your desk and to a tropical island just after a rainstorm or to a wooded cabin up in the mountains. Safe to say, I’ll be keeping a bottle of this around for the sake of both my beauty and my de-stress routines for a while!
