Here are some photos I took one day before the storm locked me inside without electricity or internet. Honestly, it wasn’t a big deal for us compared with how much damage Sandy caused elsewhere, but it was a little weird to be locked up at home with no idea what was going on in the rest of the world.
I’ll tell you all about it in more detail later on. In the meantime, here’s a photo of Emily with the coolest outfit. I love it because everything about it is in the details…
The red lips. The beanie (even if beanies never work on me and always make my head itch. I can never keep them on for more than a half hour). The white shirt. And of course, the zipper up the back.

J’adore aussi. Il semblerait qu’avec la maille, plus on accumule de point de tricot différents, plus on augmente le cachet d’une silhouette ! Quand au détail du dos… chouette idée!

Ah this look so so gorgeous!
For me, I love outfits that are all about the details, to me it suggests that the person really enjoyed dressing and made an effort for themselves and not for others. They love their clothes but they are not screaming ‘look at me’, its more sublte.
This jumper is gorgeous and love the slouchy beanie, the whole look has this laid back but chic feel.
Oh and Garance I think you just have to find the right beanie, a cashmere one it a slouchy fit would be good so it doesn’t itch! Cos does great ones :-)

Garance – I had the same problem with beanies, and for years I was totally convinced I would never find one that suited me/didn’t make my head itch…until I discovered some from this season at Marimekko. They come in grey, black, blue and orange and are not so floppy (beanies usually just look like socks on my head!). And now I LOVE wearing my beanie and feel chic at the same time. You should check them out!

I had the same problem with beanies and I figured out why: I’m a little sensitive to wool, so I decided to find a cotton beanie. I love it and it’s the coolest!
Elle est vraiment stylée cette tenue et sa chemise est cool ! J’ai tout le temps du mal à trouver la chemise avec le col parfait. Certains tombent, certains sont trop évasés, d’autres trop hauts, trop petits, bref il y a toujours un truc qui ne va pas !

Tu as assez de batteries ? Mon Macbook a tendance à ne plus tenir la charge du tout, et au bout de 2h je n’aurais plus accès au web, aaahh. Du coup, sans électricité ni internet : comment est-ce que tu travailles, en profites tu pour faire des photos, des illus’ papier, écrire avec un stylo sur du papier (oh comme c’est archaiiiique), heu… des réunions ? la stratégie de ton entreprise ? Lire des livres, des magazines, chiner l’inspiration sur du papier ?
Et du coup, pire : sans électricité ni papier, comment on ferait ?
I’ve tried with bigger sweaters, I’ve tried with thinner cotton shirts (they don’t look as crisp), but I can never get a cotton shirt under a sweater without feeling bunched up and uncomfortable…what is the secret???

Love the outfit! And I share your problem too. I can’t wear anything on my head, unless I’m going skiing or a very cold place that forces me to protect my head and ears. I always end up wearing them for 15 minutes max! Headache, itch… ahh.. too many issues. So I gave up!

Awesome style, love how the navy of the beanie goes well with the red lips and the zipper at the back seams to be “the new thing”, funny twist that I like a lot.
