I spotted Sue on the street the other day and really liked her look.
But also, I really loved her bag. Isn’t it cool? I asked her how it came about…
“I actually started putting patches on my bag after seeing a cool patched vest on St Mark’s. It was too expensive for me to buy, so I thought, ‘What do I already have that I can put patches on?’ My bag, which I bought for myself for high school graduation, instantly came to mind. I put my name on the front in varsity letters and added a few other small patches and pins that I liked to start. After that, people started giving me patches for my bag, and I started picking them up everywhere I went. Each one is special and reminds me of a place, person, or memory I loved.
It gets a lot of attention, both positive and negative, but neither matters to me. With every patch it becomes more mine. Hence its (perfect) nickname: the Souis Vuitton.” – Sue

Très honnêtement je ne suis pas très fan, déjà du sac, car je n’ai jamais aimé l’imprimé Vuitton, et puis les ballerines avec les chaussettes c’est un peu too much pour moi…

Really cool idea, though I think I’d be a little intimidated to patch up my LV… or really anything in my closet that expensive. The only thing I ever had patched and ribboned was my elementary school collection of denim. I so don’t trust myself.

Je valide tout mais alors les chaussettes dans les ballerines, quelle horreur! J’aime les chaussettes dans des sandales compensées ou même des escarpins, mais alors là ça me fait un drôle d’effet…

Pour être honnête, concernant le sac et le duo chaussettes-ballerines,je ne suis pas fan du tout…
je trouve toujours que pour oser/aimer s’habiller années 80, il ne faut pas les avoir vécues. Parce que si on les a vécu, revoir ça… (ça !) ça fait vieux ou péquenot voire même empilage de ce que j’ai sous la main. En bref, ça me rappelle 30 ans en arrière sans touche créative du coup (Irene Cara’s back!!).

Love it! When I was in my twenties I backpacked around the globe for a year and sewed flags of the countries I visited on my pack. It was so cool, but the pack was retired and I lost my patches. Thanks for the inspiration!

j’aime pas vuitton surtout celui ci tres ordinaire mais avec l’ensemble c’est cool! surtout les chaussettes et les ballerines, pas evident du tout et ca lui va super bien!
/L’idée des patchs… je faisais ça sur mon sac a dos au collège… De le refaire a 30 ans sur son vuitton c’est chouette !!

Garance, toi qui vit la mode tous les jours… penses tu qu’on pourrait parler aujourd’hui et pour certains cas de “zéle artistique” ??? un peu comme a une époque avec le contemporain et les monochromes … sauf qu’avec les fringues c’est le contraire du monochrome, il faut tout mélanger pour être “looké”…

ah merci !! moi non plus, sans vouloir être méchante je ne comprends absolument pas l’engouement suscité par cette tenue ….! ce n’est pas vraiment flatteur….. l’attitude est cool, le sac est “rigolo” mais la silhouette non non et non !!! ce n’est pas l’idée que je me fais de la féminité en tout cas.
Des vêtements à histoire-s, c’est très slow-fashion et j’adoore ça- même si je ne mettrais jamais de pins ou patches sur un sac de ville!! En général je prends les vêtements tels qu’ils sont, le DIY ce n’ets pas mon truc!
I love this bag! So cool. I also loved the first Hermes Birkin that was sold about a year ago. It wasn’t that bag from $ 10.000 and more. I just was a cool personal bag full of memories and stickers. Love that!

Sorry but not every unique or brave or mixed up is cool.
I don’t like her look at all.
Like the bag, especially because it hides the Vuitton brownish print.
But the style…no way ! there’s too much going on ! and on top of that the socks and the ballet flats ! Red card ! I see so many girls trying too much to look cool, but it’s more in the attitude than the clothes.

Pour une fille de 15 ans la tenue est sympa sans plus – surtout lorsque papa et maman peuvent lui offrir un sac de la marque Vuitton (mais j’espère que c’est un faux…et les vrais comme les faux je ne les aime pas, en plus c’est toujours ridicule et surtout illégal d’acheter des copies)
Bref cette tenue n’a aucune personnalité : il faut être une gamine pour s’habiller ainsi et mettre des autocollants sur son sac comme au collège.
Mais l’important est que cette jeune fille soit heureuse de s’habiller ainsi…n’est-ce pas ? cela lui passera vite…
J’aime l’idée de la pièce personnalisée, ça la rend unique!

Ce qui me plait le plus dans sa démarche, c’est de désacraliser l’objet de luxe et d’oser en faire quelque chose de vraiment personnel. Pour ma part, j’avoue ne pas oser franchir ce pas pour les “petits trésors” que je possède. J’aurais peur de regretter.. mais l’idée me plait vraiment. Quant à son look, là aussi, elle ose et s’amuse. Et ça, c’est génial.. parce que même si on s’habille de façon passe-partout, on ne peut pas plaire à tout le monde. Alors du coup, autant s’amuser :-)
