Spring has sprung (albeit a few April showers) and we thought it might be fun to show you how all of us here in the studio will be wearing a true classic: the jean shirt!
There’s nothing like the perfect denim shirt to wear throughout the warm weather months ahead. May it be denim on denim (a la Canadian tuxedo) or with a feminine skirt, we wanted to share how each of us will be wearing ours.
You can never have too many jean shirts!!! I have five, with different types of washes, from navy to very light, and different types of fit, from loose to pretty tight. My favorite way to style it will always be the jeans on jeans, but I also love it with a pair of very sleek tuxedo pants.
Garance
It’s funny, I really don’t wear denim shirts. But I got this one embroidered with my (full)name and it had me feeling nostalgic. I have a tendency to indulge in vintage (denim especially) , so mixing a shirt that already feels that way with something new and crisp like a high-waisted khaki is cool. A nod to Charlotte Rampling…strong and confident in a pair of trousers.
Brie
I could live in a denim shirt in summer – it’s one of my essentials, and carries fond memories of summers in Sydney. I love how a hue of strong blue looks so fresh against a stark white, so I tend to pair mine with white pants or shorts, loosely tucked in with rolled sleeves.
There’s an ease to a button down, and I think I love them all the more in denim for the feeling of Americana that hugs me every time I put one on.
Neada
I like to wear my more feminine pieces with boyish accents because I never want to look too much of either! I think the idea of a denim tuxedo shirt works perfectly with a cool gold drop-earring and a poppy red A -line skirt. And my Adidas three-stripe sneakers – they might be a bit unexpected but I try to keep everything balanced.
Elle
I tend to buy my denim shirts on the heavier side, which makes them great as semi-jackets. Usually I throw them over a t-shirt with jeans, or over a dress like this. I’m pretty short and straight though, so the belt is key, especially for keeping it more feminine!

J’aime beaucoup les chemises (en general blanches) mais en regardant les photos des differentes facons de porter la chemise en jean, je n’ai qu’une hate, m’en acheter une (ou plusieurs ?)

Unfortunately, I clicked on the shirt on the far left under “Shop this Story” and I didn’t land on a fitted, dark denim shirt, but on a totally different denim shirt. Perhaps you can fix the link so I can truly “Shop the Story”?
I’m a huge fan of shirts but I’ve only bought my first denim shirt (Ok, apart the ones I had in the 90’s!) a couple of weeks ago and I can;t part with it. It’s Zara and comes in dark wash and it goes with everything! I’m sold!

I love denim shirts and I wear them all the time. I turn them into jackets in Summer (German Summer… ugh) or I wear them under my knits in Winter!

I’ve been following for a long time and don’t comment a lot, but I had to this time. This must be one of my favorite posts in a long time (not only here but other blogs).
I live denim in general and love denim shirts for being both cool, classic and a bit unexpected. What I loved about the post is that it made me want to copy everyone of your outfits! They are very inspiring and eclectic but very democratic in a way. I also love the photos (but I tend to love every photo in the blog). It’s also very nice to the faces of the people I read from time to time. Thank you for this.

Love the post and all the photos! It’s funny (and really great) how a wardrobe staple turns into a red-hot trend from time to time. Like everything denim this season – we’ll always love our faithful denim shirt/jacket or favorite pair of jeans but it’s great to have them as central pieces in any outfit this spring :)))

Mission impossible : Trouver la chemise en jean’s dans laquelle on ne se sent pas comme un sac à patate quand on est petite.
L’idée d’Emily de la porter en une veste me séduit.Sauf que le site de Sessun ne vend que des accessoires !!!
J’aime aussi la version Denim tuxedo, juste au dessus du budget envisageable pour une pièce qui ne m’est pas essentielle.
Garance ne parle plus de la perle rare RQP (rapport qualité prix) qu’elle trouve chez ZARA?

Denim shirts for all occasions! I’ve worn my chambray shirt from Madewell every which way, but my favorite of late is with off-white jeans (a la https://instagram.com/p/z-YlJTwZEh/?taken-by=khwelsh). I “borrowed” a heavy denim shirt from a boyfriend that I wear more like a jacket—I’ve taken to calling it my “shacket.” Love shacket? ;)

Une belle sélection de la pièce incontournable du dressing, j’ai une petite préférence pour la silhouette de Garance et
de Elle. Réflexion sur le dernier post Garance, je ne dispose pas de beaucoup de temps, mais j’ai toujours autant de plaisir à vous lire, à découvrir les propositions stylistiques et les nouveautés et surtout le ton de Garance, qui à mon avis reste très parisien.

la veste en jean et la chemise en jean, les rares pièces que l’on garde des années.
Les modèles classiques de chez levi’s ou wangler sont les meilleurs investissements qui soient…
Quand elles sont élimées, elles gagnent en charme,
La plus vieille de mes vestes a 15 ans, elle a été à deux de mes soeurs avant de m’être refilée (prise de poids post grosses pour l’une et regret éternel de me l’avoir filée pour l’autre (elle tente de la récupérer, mais donné c’est donné…)). Cette veste (h et m…) est top, , en jean brut super souple, étriquée, bien coupée, usée mais pas trouée( le beau vieux idéal quoi…)
