Whenever the sun’s out and I’m wearing white, I feel like I’m on vacation Capri. To me, it’s really the color of the summer season — even though it can look just as good against a backdrop of white snow or fall-colored leaves…
The best complement to white is a darker neutral color, like a navy or black, which makes it really stand out. So, in lieu of a glowing tan, and especially for those of us who are spending these long summer days in the city, a black accessory or detail does the trick!
Whether it’s a big block of black to offset white pants, navy breton stripes (plus a necessary red lip and effortless tumbling hair) or something more subtle, like bold black button details on a white summer dress.
It’s the contrast that makes white look even brighter, more illuminated and fresher (even if you’re lucky enough for that contrast to be a deep blue of the ocean). How do you offset your summer whites? And what’s your favorite destination to wear them? Capri, anyone?

All these outfits are nice and wearable. The dress at the top is a stand-out though — different and yet elegant.
I don’t wear white much as it’s not a good shade for me. Cream is better, and I either wear it monochromatic or with lots of bright summer colours.

Oh dear my secret is out! This is how I always makes my whites whiter and darks darker…contrast! Usually though in the summer I like to do all white, especially when it comes to dresses or floaty pieces. Destination: Newport and then on to Nantucket.

I live in Arizona where white is accepted and easy to style year round. That said, I love white when am at lake house in NY, paired with more nautical inspired pieces. Lovely post!
I love all white because of the clean lines and crispness of the look! The only other thing I pair with white is denim…they are naturals together! Yes, and I can imagine myself in Capri or the Amalfi coast wearing all white everyday!! xo

White clothes should always be made with high quality fabric, otherwise it can look cheap! Linen is the best with this bright color. I love the first dress, simple but chic!

je porte de plus en plu souvent du blanc, en hiver comme en été. J’aime l’associer à des tons foncés en hiver (brun, taupe, kaki…) et plus vifs en été (rouge, orange, jaune…) !
Le blanc c’est tellement joli l’été, sur une peau bien hâlée :)

Hum j’aime bien, mais en bas c’est très salissant (oui c’est la réplique que moi même je déteste mais bon faut bien le dire). J’ai un short très sympa mais dès que je le mets, une tâche dans la journée, ça marche à tous les coups … Par contre j’ai trouvé the t-shirt blanc y’a quelques jours, et ça c’est super !

Pas de blanc, ni en été ni en hiver, malgré tous mes efforts, c’est bien la seule chose qui ne me va pas au teint. Mais c’est l’occasion de porter des couleurs très fortes et vibrantes qui, bien travaillées, parlent aussi d’été et de vacances au soleil…
