It’s funny, when you travel all the time, all you want to do is find places that feel like home. I love hotels, but it makes me so happy when I can live like a local, get groceries, and rent a house like I did in LA in January.
For my visit to Paris, it was a bit different. I was invited to stay at Marie-Sixtine, an apartment — or, as the Marie-Sixtine team likes to call it, “the littlest hotel in Paris”. Marie-Sixtine is a Parisian clothing brand that makes very soft, very cozy clothes, that are the perfect link between the inside and the outside. The apartment above the shop was available, and the team decided to decorate it, so the apartment is kind of an extension of the look and feel of the brand.
I’ve already told you about this when I visited the Armani world, I’m pretty passionate about these types of stories. For me, a brand has always been much more than just clothing — I’d love to see a Céline hotel one day, or a Loewe airline, or an Isabel Marant travel agency…as long as it’s done really, really well, of course. We’ve too many bad licensings around.
And really, the Marie-Sixtine apartment was thought out to perfection. First of all, it’s the ideal Parisian pied-a-terre, like a cozy cloud, not too big, not too small, and the decor is super inspiring and calming — I couldn’t believe my eyes when I set down my much too heavy baggage (both physical and psychological) and went over to sprawl out on the bed. I could have slept there non-stop for a week. Let’s just say it wasn’t easy to get to work…
Even so, I managed to invite a couple of my beloved friends, Laura and Lauren, to have breakfast with me. We ordered a sublime breakfast at Epicerie Generale and we caught up on each other’s lives for as long as possible. A little moment of paradise amid the craziness of fashion weeks…

C’est vrais que voyager, c’est génial. On découvre de nouveaux paysages, on apprend à vivre comme les locaux… mais punaise, ça fait du bien de rentrer chez soi quand même ! Home sweet home, comme on dit. ;)
L’atmosphère qui se dégage est reposante. L’endroit a l’air d’avoir été pensé pour que l’on se sente comme chez soi!

Je te suis depuis très longtemps et, comme beaucoup d’autres, je commente très rarement tes posts. Pourtant j’ai souvent éclaté de rire (ha, tes débuts en surf au Costa-Rica, je le relis encore de temps en temps…) ou eu les larmes aux yeux en te lisant. Au tout début, c’était toi qui étais à Paris et moi à l’étranger et c’était toi qui faisait le lien entre ma vie quotidienne et la France qui me manquait pas mal à l’époque.
Bref, aujourd’hui, en te lisant, je me disais que certaines expressions un peu fatalistes ou découragées émaillent régulièrement dans tes écrits depuis quelques temps. Il me semble que ça n’était pas du tout le cas avant. Alors peut-être que tu es seulement plus authentique aujourd’hui ou bien je me fais des idées ou c’est une fatigue passagère, mais je voulais quand même te recommander de prendre bien soin de toi, de t’écouter réellement et de suivre tes souhaits profonds. Bonne continuation et à bientôt!

Cet appartement est superbe. J’aime l’idée d’un endroit associé à une marque c’est inspirant. J’adore les petits déjeuners alors j’ai hâte de decouvrir les recettes !
Atmosphere douillette et reposante que les photos d’Erik mettent joliment en valeur.
C’est vrai que je prefererais un petit appart’ a un hotel pour un sejour a Paris et vivre au rythme des parisiens, aller au marche et cuisiner, ramener des fleurs, etc… ! :-)

Beautifully furnished apartment, and what a unique, inviting concept! The little arrangment of potted flowers is adorable, and of course clawfoot tubs are just about my favorite.
Très bel appart, sur une des photos de salle de bain, il y a une blouse à paillettes dorées, magnifique, quelle en est la marque ?

La déco est super subtile, j’aime beaucoup pour “du Paris”. Et je me disais : mais pourquoi cette obsession des couleurs claires et neutres dans le home design des grandes villes ? A cause de l’agitation perpétuelle extérieure ? Pourtant au Brésil par exemple, c’est pas du tout comme ça. D’où vient cet extrait énorme pour les non couleurs ? (moi je suis super couleurs :D)
La décoration est très mignonne, toutes ces fleurs, cette délicatesse…un univers féminin dans lequel on se sent bien
