I think it is great to have her back. She comes from a different time of style and this will give fresh air into fashion. I hope she eill have an influence on the way we dress. I have many vintage jil sander pieces and they are timeless and elegant. This is what we should get from fashion right now.
What an awesome photo. It’s amazing how many “tools” a person carries with him. Too bad it makes all experiences less emotional as you’re too busy “catching” the moment (you in fact never had because you were catching it…)
If I were Jill, I wouldn’t like it.
I agree with everyone – good photo!
not that I keep up with the shows and stuff that much but the last one from Raf Simons was soooo gorgeous.. twill be interesting to see what she does (..well, with her own brand..haha)
Love that banner photo. Simple question: do you do a lot of post editing? Just curious to know
I’m new to the blog o sphere. Check out my new site, http://www.19rivoli.com
It’s a lifestyle/photography blog! Any suggestions, comments, or just casual glances would be greatly appreciated.
your photo alone tells the story: did twitter or iphone exist when she was last at jil sander?! did fashion blogs exist? she represented the cutting edge in technology & modernism before…. but now those things are part of everyone’s world…. i’m fascinated to see how her story unfolds!
I THINK SHE WILL DO A GOOD JOB PICKING UP FROM WHERE RAF “FINISHED”..THAN THEY CAN ALWAYS PLAY THE “LETS CHANGE THE DESIGNER SO THE BRAND GETS BETTER AND PUT HER BACK AGAIN”…I AM A LITTLE BIT PISSED OFF AT WHAT THEY DID WITH RAF SIMONS…BUT DO WISH HER THE BEST
Dear Garance…
I totally hear you! I’m from Hamburg/ Germany like Jiline Heidemarie Sander, and back home she is fashion legend!… loved the show too.

the post that made even the great sartorialist weak in his knees! i have to agree with scott and say that this is one of your most amazing photos. everything about it is PERFECTION. the lines, the colors, the perspective. you are a GENIUS!
It seems that the front row is not always the best seat. Actually not a bad idea to sometimes get downgraded if only this allows you to have different views on the shows (or on life in general). I am very touched by Sander’s courage to come back after someone else put her label on top again. I must feel very special for her. Hope everybody is kind enough to wait for her to develop her Jil Sander’s project.
Years before I ever realized that I would actually end up working for her, Garance was my introduction to a certain kind of fashion. At the time, she...
Until recently, I was a hard-core bronzer fanatic, it was my hero product in my beauty routine since high school. I tried every version under the sun...
Ahhhh the bun!! As you know, in my past hair life I was totally a top knot girl. But there is something about the low chignon that I also really love....
I’m sure expecting great things.
A different era indeed. The expectations…. I can’t wait, she’s always been a favorite.
Very excited to see the outcome of this “come back”.

I just saw her new collection on Style.com and just loved it!. It’s so respectful and liberating towards women.
Impressive picture Garance! And it must be close to terrifying to walk in front of all those people photographing…

Love Jil. She’s a champion for me. For womenswear, that has graduating from girliness and speaks to emancipated women.

Hmm… It’s lovely but nothing really new here. Could be Cos or a watered down version of Céline… Or do they emulate Jil Sander? It’s a mashed up world!
Sooo glad she’s back, exciting! Loved her since the eighties.

Really powerful picture, I love it! You truly captured the moment of the new era for Jil Sander, well done!
