Last Night in Florence

Haider Ackermann was invited by the Pitti Uomo, and together they gave the most spectacular show. It’s as if the designer let loose the reins to his dreams. It was at the Palazzo Corsini, in a surreally beautiful baroque palace beside the Arno, two steps away from the Ponte Vecchio.
At 10:00, after a fruit buffet of pomegranates, cherries, and grapes the size of your fist, the secretive and sublime Jamie Bochert came forth in silence.
Then she sat down at the piano and started singing. All around her, violins, cellos… I’ve never heard her voice and I was absolutely blown away. It was soft, suave, and dreamy, like a summer night.
Then slowly, to her music, the models started out.
After a few sublime songs, Jamie got up. The show was over. A good runway show is always too short.
We all left with an inspiration book, a beautiful book full of images and drawings.
Wahoooooo. I’m heading down to get my breakfast and I’m going to flip hrough it with my coffee.

Spectacular, the atmosphere seems like one of those grand balls. That last picture of the overflowing dish of ruby coloured fruit especially looks like a 17th century Italian painting!

The pictures are rather inspiring, really. I am not sure whether the fact fashion shows are increasingly becoming shows, with little fashion in them is a good or a bad thing, but it seems to be the trend. Let us see how this evolves. Enjoy Florence, too! It is a marvelous city.

Garance, depuis que tu es à Florence tes photos ressemblent à des peintures! J’y pensais déjà hier en regardant la première photo du post sur la parfumerie (le mur avec la tapisserie qui se désagrège), mais aujourd’hui c’est vraiment flagrant avec ta dernière photo, dont la coupe de fruits aux éclairages dramatisants et aux beaux mélanges de rouges vifs et rouges sombres est pour moi une réinvention de la nature morte classique (avec ce livre de photos qui nous relie discrètement à notre époque).

Oooo right around from my old apartment. I lived on Borgo San Jacopo. I love Google street view because I can walk down that street from my computer when ever I miss it.
Also, your photography style seems a little different here. Is is because of the low light. Are you shooting with a 55mm 1.2 lens?

Waoua, tel que tu le décris, ça avait l’air d’être la magie d’un instant hors du temps (créer des instants, je ne sais pas si c’est la fonction première des créateurs de mode, mais cela redonne du sens à ce mot galvaudé de créateurs)
