J’adore doré! Yes, the color – in just about any form. (And, as it’s Garance’s birthday Friday, it feels even more appropriate to talk about gold!)
I’ve had a pair of gold SpringCourt sneakers for years… A mid-hi-top of sorts. I love them. So much so I can’t part with them – they’ve got a special place in my heart. They also have this ability to both seamlessly blend into my soontobeverytanned summer legs and be just about the only amount of metallic I can wear without thinking.
Garance told me about her similar love affair with a pair of gold Vans she saw in the window of a shop, and there is of course those Céline ballerina pumps (the verdict is still out on those for us here at the studio but, if someone gave them to me, I would probably accept).
I think what’s so attractive about a gold shoe – or even a gold bag – is that the little bit of a sunny reflective shade has a way of dressing up even the most casual of looks, making my simple jeans and tee an ounce more cool. Because yes, I woke up like this and thought this gold clutch would be pretty badass to bring to breakfast. And because the golden hour can be all day long with the right accessory.

Love, LOVE the gold touch and completely agree that it elevates the casual to the cool zone. But! as much as want to, I still don’t feel Celine ballerina pumps. I think it’s one of those cases where they just had a glimpse in a collection.

Love the Vans! I can do without the Celine ballerinas – both pumps and flats. They look like bedroom slippers or pool shoes to me – I don’t care who the designer is!

I seem to have a similar obsession with silver shoes esp. sandals for the same reasons I guess.
Tout simplement magnifique. Et cela brise le cliché qui dit que le bon goût et les couleurs voyantes et fortes sont incompatibles. Tout est affaire de bon goût justement.

Not a fan of denim + gold. To me it looks cheap, especially outside in daylight. I much rather see gold accessories with evening wear. Guess I’m old fashioned.

Hehe, I don’t know if people would consider me tacky but for me, gold is a neutral. My go to bag is a square gold one that I bought on clearance from Target. It is cheaply made and showing a lot of wear but it is by far my favorite bag. It makes me smile and I don’t care if people think it’s showy or if it’s kind of blinding in the sunlight. I’ve been on the lookout for a pair of gold shoes for a long time so thanks for sharing this!

Hi Filou, having lived in Vienna and attended balls at the Hofburg, I’d say be careful with gold but rather go for color. Whatever you do, go for a long dress. And no white, as you don’t want to look like one of the “brides” who does the official introduction dance (if it’s that official, they might just have this).
Most of all, have fun, watch out for your toes at midnight when they dance the polka and for God’s sake bring flats for the trip home!

Mes 1eres chaussures dorées sortaient de chez Monop. Un peu trop pointues à mon goût mais l’effet était génial avec un jean en denim brut.
Les Vans ont l’air incroyablement faciles à vivre…

Les espadrilles sont super jolies comme est la silhouette de la première photo. N’empêche que les accessoires dorées c’est joli sur des filles bronzées sur les autres je ne sais pas trop.
