If you’ve followed us for a while, you know that we love a little party, you know that we love to make things easy, and you know that we love celebrating our friends. We’ve been working with Vince for many seasons, we love the brand, we wear it, and we also love Caroline (who is Vince’s creative director) and Tomoko (who is Vince’s brand director) as well as all the rest of team.
There is also this new hotel, The Surfrider Malibu, which is sort of a dream come true. There is a view on the most famous break of all time, a roof top big enough to be comfortable but not too big to be impersonal. The rooms are amazing too, but I am sure we’ll come back to that – I totally am dreaming of doing a full takeover of the hotel for a mini-retreat.
So! When it came time to think about our last party of the season, it was all about ease (aka a non-seated dinner) friends (you’ll recognize a lot of the faces) fish tacos (one of my favorite foods in the world!) and coconut tequilas (I have to get the recipe of that cocktail).
It was the perfect party to end July in the warmest of ways, and to welcome August, a month dedicated to ABSOLUTELY NOTHING (if you suddenly don’t hear from us, don’t worry, we’re fine, we’re just HAVING A COCONUT MARGARITA) – in other words, to embody the cool, wonderful, slow deliciousness of summer…

What caught my eye is the fact you featured a paper straw in one of the photos! I’ve been focusing lately on eliminating them from my every day life. Seeing that this hotel is located so near the beach, it’s a subtle yet effective way for the hotel guests, party goers & people in general to be reminded of this small gesture that can have lasting impacts on our wonderful coastlines. Perhaps there’s a “strawless” org ya’ll could team up with for more awareness. (Chris would probably go for this too!)
