I’m INFJ, the advocate. INFJs make up less than 1% of the population. I always knew I was a little strange ;)

MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator) is my horoscope. I got into this theory about a year ago, when I said in passing to a psychologist friend that I’m an Introvert, and she said, really? I don’t think you’re an Introvert at all! I went home and repeated this to my (shy) husband and he said, If you’re an Introvert, what am I?? So I did some research and now I laugh that I once thought I was an Introvert, I am so clearly an Extrovert! I know of two other women who are clearly Extroverts but think they are Introverts. The problem is the questions are poorly worded. If you are an Extrovert and Intuitive then even though you are a people-person you still like being alone with your (Intuitive) thoughts and plans and so you may answer the questions “wrong”.
I’m an ENTJ and they say only 1% of females are ENTJ (3% of males). If anyone is ENTJ know that it is difficult when you are female and you have to adjust your behavior to expectations, unfortunately. I am sure Sheryl Sandberg is an ENTJ, as are most who actually manage to climb the corporate ladder. We’re the ones called “bossy” if we are female. At two very different companies – one international consulting company of 100 employees that was somewhat freewheelingly managed, and one corporation of 35k employees at corporate HQ – anyway, at two very different companies with very different styles (casual and even adventurous versus Suits) I had managers basically tell me to “tone it down”. One of these managers was male, one female. I believe had I been male acting exactly the same way they would have cried, Promote him! instead. I was young and didn’t know about my personality type; if I had been wiser I would have indeed “toned it down” but the point is that their reaction was just as much in the wrong because it is likely they wouldn’t have minded had I been male. Apparently I didn’t show enough respect to executive clients (at the consulting company) or to the executives themselves when in meetings! Oops, I thought I was already on their level? (Not really, it’s my personality type. “The Commander”)
One last thought, the ENTJ type is least suited to being a stay at home mom, which is what I chose to do in the end (crazy), but when we do choose that route, we excel at it, although in our managerial-thinking style. I am not naturally good with small children (yummy breastfeeding hormones made me good with babies) but I research parenting a lot, and my home is immaculate and well decorated and yes, I do make gourmet meals. It’s an ENTJ thing, we need a challenge. “Playing” with children is just not my thing and so I do get frustrated at home but you really can’t have it all, let’s face it. I’ll return to work soon enough. Meanwhile I have plenty of “me” time I wouldn’t have if I worked, and I’m trying to be cooler, more relaxed, patient, etc. I sometimes wish I were more like Stella Tennant roaming the border country with her brood and playing with her children delightedly in their elegantly messy home! (Referring to noughties Vogue spreads.)
Ok, sorry, that was long and personal. I have nothing to say about all the horoscope posts here, I’ll leave that to others…

I am also an ENTJ, though I don’t recognize myself as so distant from my emotions, I am very creative and sensitive but I am a rational scientific too (double degree in pharmacy and marketing tends to mess with your head). As a freshly arrived young woman in the working world (in France which may be different ?), I find it difficult to find my place, I also tends to see everyone as equal! Anyway, thanks for your advice!

These tests don’t quite seem to understand all of my complexities and contradictions in my personality. I think that I’m INFP, and this test says that I’m INTJ- I’ve taken other tests that categorize me differently as well haha.

I agree with Aline. According to this test my profile is so depressing ! How could I wake up every morning, have good friends and a stable job with this “personnality”. Hopefully I know myself better than a machine. Everybody should keep a certain distance with it.

je viens de faire le test, qui oblige à réflechir sur certaines questions, à des choses auxquelles on ne pense pas…
Pour le coup le résultat est assez proche de ce que je ressens pour l’empathie et le fait de croire en les gens (je suis ENFJ, comme Barack Obama, ouaaiii!) Je pense qu’il faut aller au delà de ce qui est écrit pour comprendre…

J’ai déjà fait ce test plusieurs fois (mon copain est fasciné par le MBTI), et je n’ai jamais réussi à savoir qu’elle était ma catégorie. La plupart du temps, je tombe sur ENFP ou INFP, mais je ne me reconnais pas dedans… C’est très frustrant. De plus, passer ce test est toujours très difficile pour moi, la plupart des questions me prennent 15 minutes de réflexions.

Je suis sûre que le jour où je trouverais le groupe me correspondant, celui-ci indiquera quelque chose comme: ce groupe ne supporte pas d’être catégorisé hahaha

I also got the INFJ Advocate — very interesting! As much as I knew I was super different, knowing only 1% make up our population, but so many of us are into the GD studio… Makes you wonder!

I took this about a month ago now, I am a Logician INTP-T and I agree with what each of the sections say about me. It was interesting to see I shouldn’t be ashamed of some things – it’s just who I am. Now I can reframe who others see me based on these results without judgment.
