States of Undress
8 years ago by
Last week, the actress and screenwriter Hailey Gates presented the first two episodes of her super intriguing docuseries “States of Undress” at the Metrograph Theater on Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
In these investigative short films produced along Viceland (Vice’s new TV channel), Gates travels all around world to present from a different lens the complexity of fashion and beauty standards, while exploring political and gender related issues.
Gates’ curiosity, sense of humor and complete honesty make her the perfect host for this project. In the first episode, shot in Pakistan, you will follow her into the craziness of the Karachi Fashion Week, to later have a thoughtful conversation with Abdul Aziz, an Islamic cleric at the Red Mosque in Islamabad, in which the two discuss women’s dress code, among other topics.

It seems to be sooo interesting but… it doesn’t work if we don’t have the cable and if we wanna see it for free it is written “this video is not available in your country” (France).. I’m not the best for digital things but it is a little bit frustrating.
I really enjoyed watching this. Thank you for sharing!
