Headband Envy

I’m having serious headband envy…
I used to think this was a look I could only pull off when I was getting ready to wash my face but now after perusing the Elizabeth & James resort lookbook, I’m having second thoughts. I love the simplicity of the wide black band with the hair left loose in the back.
I feel ready to take it out from in front of the sink to the streets of New York…what do you think?

As we return, yet again, to 1990 :) It was always an easy look when you didn’t want to ‘do’ your hair.
La difficulté avec ces bandeaux c’est de ne pas ressembler à une ado… Je suis sûre que cela peut rendre extrêmement bien mais ça reste assez périlleux. Mais après tout, ça tombe pile dans la tendance 90’s =). On espère voir comment tu t’es débrouillée !

Love it. With a modern strong brow, even better.
You can even shade it toward the Brigitte Bardot headband look when the grunge references are over… oldy but goody.

Headbands also work nicely with short hair. I carry a short pixie cut and i love wearing simple black jersey headbands whenever i want to look a tad more girly. It´s really cute and i can pretend my hair is long in the back.

Ever since I saw Sally’s headband this week on Mad Men I have wanted a nice shiny one.
Il y a eu une période (il y a genre 20 ans) où c’était hyper à la mode…on était un paquet de filles à porter ça. Moi ça me fait un peu une tête d’oeuf :-), mais si ça te va bien, c’est jolie…

C’est mon look “repousse trop évidente”. Ma collègue Marie-Anne se paie ma tête, mais elle dit tout de même que ça va bien. Par contre je laisse la frange sortir. Et je varie les couleurs!
I think it really depends of the shape of the face but overall I just keep thinking that at one point it will fall of my hair and leave it all messy.

Love it! I have been thinking about headbands for the past few months. Got a polka dot one and a leather one from forever21, and a bunch of them in different width and colors from target.
It adds just the right amount of element of high school girl youthfulness to the outfit. Only looks good when you have super long hair or a longer bob though.

I know how you can get that exact look for super cheap! I should know, it was very in style during my high school years (early noughties) in Toronto, Canada. Okay, purchase really fancy black, matte, opaque pantyhose. Snip off at the knees. You can snip the foot part off to create a proper rectangle. Then tie both ends in a knot at the nape of your neck. Voila! Super nice finish (because they’re expensive stocking quality), they won’t slip off your hair because pantyhose material is kind of grip-y, and you’ve got a great new look!
I love it! Especially when worn with a retro swimsuit.

J; aime beaucoup, mais il faut dire que je suis une fan des tus les bandeau et autres accessoires cheveux.
L’avantage acvec un tel bandeau c’est que l’on prend pas de risque… c’est un classique!-
In Russia this look wouldn’t go, because black band is traditional for the funeral.
