Dream Jeans

I have 15 pairs of blue jeans and counting.
Half of which are vintage (ok, maybe 70% are, but whatever). Garance and I were talking about blue jeans, finding the right color and realizing we had more than a few which were no longer ideal. But then, G got some really rad Levi’s 501CT (yes yes they are their new vintage-like customized fit they just released) with the most perfect worn-in California wash. What are the odds, both of us finding some dream jeans in the same week?!
But our standards are high, don’t let my casual banter fool you. Right color is not too dark, not too light, proper saturation …. and the fit, well, must be perfect and timeless. Sometimes it takes years to find the perfect pair but, rest assured, when you do, you’ll feel like you’ve hit the Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy jackpot.

Dream jeans! So elusive. I finally found mine in January of this year when I ordered the Margot Highrise from Industry Standard. I wear them probably 3/4 times a week—they never lose their shape, they fit me like a glove, and the price point is super reasonable. They’ve held up better than jeans I paid twice as much for.
However, I’ve still not tracked down my ideal boyfriend jeans—so if anyone has any suggestions, I’m all ears.

Je suis bien d’accord, c’est pas évident de trouver LE jean. J’ai mis pas mal de temps, mais finalement j’en ai acheté un qui ressemble un peu à celui de la photo, taille haute mais brut. Et j’en suis contente :)

Levi 501s – that takes me back – there used to be two coloured tags – red and orange. Red being the preferable tag to have – does anyone remember this?
My perfect jeans for the moment: Sophie, by Mavi. They came out in new styles every season, and the cut is just perfect for me. Well… I have 3 pairs of jeans! 1 old (light blue, comfy and worn), 1 half new (darker blue) and 1 black. That’s it! And it’s not that I don’t wear jeans…
Where would I stick 50 pairs of jeans?!? I would I have no space for the shirts… ;)
Anyway, this is why most posts about decluttering or embracing minimalism don’t resonate with me.
It really is a problem, believe me. But i do have to go on a Jean Diet.

Carolyn Besette Kennedy – a perennial style icon! I have always admired her style and she was one of very few women ever who looked great in high rise jeans.
15 paires de jeans, c’est une quantité raisonnable, surtout lorsqu’on sait que les combinaisons de coupes, de confort (fit in english :), de hauteur de taille, de délavages, de matières (poids du denim, variété des taissages), etc, se dénombrent en centaines !
Le jeans parfait n’est parfait qu’un temps ! Notre silhouette évolue constamment, et la vision que l’on a de nous même est franchement variable… Le jeans parfait d’une saison est rarement celui de la saison suivante… et c’est tant mieux !
