A Street Style with Peju Famojure
5 years ago by
Peju is a stylist and consultant who has worked with all the major magazines and some seriously cool celebs (think: Beyonce and Solange!!). She is an avid traveler and brings a uniquely global perspective to all of her creative projects.
We love how effortlessly she mixes unexpected pieces. And we can’t get enough of her updated take on the school-girl skirt/ penny loafer combo, reminiscent of one of our favorite on-screen style stars…
Describe your style in three words or phrases.
Sharp and soft.
What is your ideal outfit or uniform?
My ideal look is a great fitting pair of mid-tone washed jeans and a top that’s either soft like a piece of silky, lace-y bed-clothes, or something really interesting and structured that highlights the waist.
What is most important to you: comfort, beauty or innovation?
I’d be lying if I didn’t say comfort, but beauty is subjective. Conventional beauty is often interrupted by innovation, and I love those moments.
What is the most treasured item in your closet?
I don’t think of my clothes as too precious, but the first thing that popped into mind was a pony-hair and red lace dress that I scored while living in Paris from Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci… two materials you wouldn’t imagine to play well together, but that really define my style.
Most recent thing that has influenced your style?
The new wave of German/ Eastern European underground design aesthetics. I really love the bad-assery.
Best thing you’ve read recently?
Sapiens
Fantasy life in three words?
Freedom, Discovery, Unity
First memory of fashion?
My first designer purchase was an Iceberg faux fur jacket and sneakers
Do you feel most yourself dressed up or dressed down?

Signature perfume or scent?
