Weekend Inspiration #51

This Owl Butterfly got lost in my room. Here he is, trying to scare me with his fake eyes. I succeeded in freeing him and it made Scott and I deliriously happy.
Just to give you an idea, this butterfly is bigger than my open hand.
nature does it better! :)

C’est trop mignon
En langage de jeune, je dirais que ce papillon est carrément zarbi…
That’s amazing! What a wonderful photo! And I’m so glad you gave us an idea of the scale of it, I never would have guessed it was so big!

Il a posé pour toi :) Même la nature s’arrête pour que tu en captures l’essence, en images…
Beautiful story. Several years ago at work a small shy bird flew into the office and perched terrified on the wall staying so so still. A colleague .was able to cup the birds in his hands and released the shy bird outside. It made me realise that humans are not only fragile.
love the look, nature always wins!
Très belle image
Aw he is beautiful! So happy you could save him!
..it made Scott and ME deliriously happy.
Nature is nature Amazing miracle.

I would have been so terrified! Butterflies are beautiful, but they make me nervous with their erratic movement, lol.
Garance, as much as I appreciate the inherent beauty of such a being, were I to find myself trapped in a room with a fluttering being the size of an open hand, I would run screaming like a possessed girl into the wilderness never to be seen again. Gotta the love la nature though… xx
Wow! This big! Amazing creature! I can imagine the joy after freeing such a beautiful creature. xxx
I know that this butterfly is beautiful, but the eye thing and bigger than your hand! Were you not a bit scared??

Garance, i hate moth looking things… only you can make such insects look so beautiful – and now i want to wear its patterns!
Wow!

C’est tellement bien fait la nature… C’est fou
Il est trop beau! je me verrai vraiment mal en avoir un, même sublime, accroché derriere une vitre… C’est si beau vivant
Dis donc.
I recently used insects as textile and color inspiration for school. I studied moths like these for a part of my project, the part that was supposed to portray a “sophisticated” mood. Just beautiful! Do a quick image search of moth scales and be amazed!
Ivres de joie ? Quand même …. Ce serait pas plutôt le champ ?
Garance, you are very, very brave! But maybe you don’t want to book that African photo safari just yet!
Kinda ‘noisy’ outside of tent at night.
Love this photo of the ever fashionable and HUGE ‘fake eye’ (Hey, Gaga, get a load of this make-up job), and your heroic save! I recognized your “O-F”! screams across the miles!
How did evolution know to create the design of an eye in such detail upon the wing of a moth? That does my head in so much…and raises so many interesting questions… Incredulous!
Il est tellement beau !
xx.
In Filipino, we call that Mariposa. We used to have a lot in our backyard, when behind our house were rice fields and lush greens. I haven’t seen the Mariposa for years. Thanks for sharing.
Nice !
New outfit post on my blog, check it out :)
