It’s the holidays !!! And for the holidays, I’ve put together a little selection of photos I’ve never published. You’ll get to see some pretty cool stuff I found. It’s never too late for a good photo!!!
This has to be one of the first photos I took of Caroline, which happened to be at the time when the wonderful Richard Serra sculpture was still in the Tuileries Gardens, what a joy — and I remember what I asked myself: how can a face express such tranquility? It wasn’t just Caroline’s beauty but her serenity, her outfits that are always perfect but never over the top, the side of her that says ‘I’m here but I could also be elsewhere living incredible adventures at the other end of the world…

Here are the most recent pictures I’ve taken of Caroline. Since, we’ve become friends and even if we don’t live in the same city — Caroline lives in London – each time we can we take a couple of hours to catch up on each other’s lives. And now I’m going to say something that will seem ever more banal than the most banal of all banalities (but it’s the holidays!!! It’s the moment for banalities!!!) But Caroline is just as beautiful inside as outside.
She also happens to have a super interesting work history. I’m in the process of preparing a career interview of her for you guys. While waiting for that, go check out Tank and Because, two of her many projects. Ok I’m off, kisses!

Vraiment belle femme, elle a du charme!
Elle est encore plus belle à manger des frites qu’à poser dans une veste incroyable pour un objectif. J’oserais même dire que le travail sur la veste empêche de se concentrer sur la beauté de son visage, si douce, si rayonnante.
Quelqu’un comprend ce que je veux dire ou je suis totalement folle ? (Les deux options sont possibles, d’ailleurs ;-))
Cette fille est vraiment très belle et elle maîtrise tout comme toi l’art du chignon et sinon merci pour les interview sur les carrière de gens qui travaillent dans la mode que tu as fait ça aide cependant je reste toujours sur ma faim car j’aimerai savoir quelles écoles ils conseillent . Bisou et joyeux noël en retard <3
The first picture is great, she looks so natural and yet so chic. As you say, she looks very serene. Talking about banal things, i love her orangeish red lipstick!

Oui (je vais en rajouter une couche pour les platitudes, mais ’tis the season) elle a une beauté intemporelle. c’est rare. Elle pourrait être une star des années 40 et elle est aussi belle maintenant. C’est peut être ça l’équilibre !

Caroline is amazing and Because is amazing… They make the most amazing make-up tutorials (Kay Montano docet) I’ve ever seen, really super cool from the graphics to the music!

Your description of her expression and suggested demeanor is spot-on (at least that’s what I gather from her ‘knowing’ smile!) Her beauty stands in a class of its own — hm, or perhaps alongside a few others who’ve been photographed by you and Scott through the years… She looks equally radiant in this structured ensemble as well as in the softer, more colorful blouse below. J’espère que tu as passé de bonnes fêtes de Noël.
A la vue de ces photos, et des précédentes (Chioma et Camille), je note une prépondérance de la brunette qui contraste (à ma plus grande joie) avec la blondeur des podiums.
Tu apportes la preuve en images que les brunes ne comptent pas pour des prunes !
Blagounette à part, je trouve que le look de Caroline sur la première photo est super aussi bien à la ville qu’au boulot. Les lèvres rouges et la boucle de ceinture dorée apportent la petite touche en plus à une tenue qui pourrait vite s’avérer… un peu sombre.
Complètement fan de la veste en cuir (vintage?).

Hi Garance, and Happy Christmas!
I’m not sure why but this has been one of your posts that has really warmed up my heart. I’m not in the fashion business at all (I’m just a lawyer), so I only know the ladies in your pictures from your renderring of them. Still, there has always been something about Caroline that I have loved but have been unable to put my finger on it. And now you’ve said it outright and boom, that’s it: it’s exactly her tranquility and sense of self that makes her so beautiful that you immediately want to know more of her and have her as your friend.
The way you write about her tells me that you do indeed cherish her as a friend, and that says a lot about you too. Not that I don’t love you already :))
