“I guess you can say I am addicted to brass bracelets. Over the past few years, I have amassed an accidental collection. My first purchase was the Giles & Brother Railroad Spike Cuff. I bought it as an end of finals gift to myself senior year at University of Michigan.
One of these bracelets was part of a project with the Newark Police Department: they used guns taken off the street to make bracelets and each bracelet includes a serial number of one of the guns.
From there my collection seems to have a life of its own. Of course, it only makes sense to wear them all at once so when I move you can hear me coming from a mile away. I appreciate the noise, I’m not sure my fellow desk mates have been too thrilled.”

Bracelets from Giles & Brother, Miansai and the Caliber Collection.
I love that each bracelet has its own story. While pretty jewelry is, well, pretty…I also love hearing about the background of interesting pieces like this.

Also Brass — but a bit different — you might check “The Giving Keys”

I bought one as a graduation gift recently…”Believe”…but very cool, charitable and they are
customizable.
Tribal India has the most beautiful brass jewelry. Everyone wears some with black thick ribbon like fabric. Its beautiful on tan skin. I have a small collection from my travels. Its surprising to see very similar stuff on sites like jewelmint and other designers. I guess travel is a great inspiration for designers. I love the selection you have in the picture. Very beautiful.

Good shot, great bracelets and amazing stories, esp the Newark PD one.

I like the story of these bracelets, really cool idea! xx

Super cool. I’ve always loved those railroad spike cuffs, but I’ve only coveted them from afar. Would love to have one one day. And then I can see how it would get addictive. In spite of the noise and the heft!

I totally get the addiction, gorgeous bracelets! xx

Jewellery always looks better when there is a story behind it….it becomes part of the fabric somehow….x
I heard of those bracelets to! But what if one of those guns shoot sombody or even killed!
I love the bracelets, I wanted them to.. but this got me thinking…
It is a good way to recycle and bring something bad to good :)
