Bonjour Garance, je suis ton blog depuis quelques années, toujours une grande source d’inspiration, d’une grande générosité, je n’ai pas l’habitude de laisser de commentaires, je me laisse transporter sans jamais oser rajouter quoique soit, de peur de paraitre trop futile ou inutile….(même si je sais que le but d’un blog est d’échanger entre nous). Mais aujourd’hui, pourquoi, ta série sur Bali me touche, j’aime ce regard créatif, mais c’est plus profond que ça, je ressens des émotions à travers ces posts, ton regard sur ces femmes à l’autre bout du monde, avec un savant mélange de mode, d’histoire et de nature…
Alors voilà, merci pour tout ça…
I find myself admiring the juxtaposition of B&W & Color — vintage photos have so much texture next to our digital prints. Could you get a similar photo now without using actual film? That is composition aside…
I love the background of the picture. It gives colour to the B&W photo and sets the mood.

Garance, I LOVE the layered photos thing you’ve started. It’s really beautiful and makes the wholes story of what you’re photographing stand out more. Totally stealing this idea for my next photo album book :-) Bisous. PS I grew up in Australia but spent about 3 months a year in Bali since I was a baby- your holiday is making me all sentimental….
In the old days in Bali it was common for women to be topless… Then came the tourists and the women of Bali were “forced” to look at their nudity in the way we from the west do (on account of the male lookie-loos)… I love Bali and was married there last June in Ubud. Funny to see this post now as I was just reminiscing. Enjoy!
