One for the Books
7 years ago by
It’s become known around the atelier that I’m the resident literati—I can’t get enough of books, mostly of the fiction sort. And during the summer, my favorite guilty pleasure is buying books at the town grocery store in Cape Cod (well that, and the orange whip milkshakes I drink every day which don’t really help with fulfilling my #swimsuitgoals). I stock up at the start of every summer and then spend the following weeks getting totally lost in stories that range from pure fluff to deep psychology (as one does in Wellfleet).
So for this summer, I thought we’d ask Claudia Ballard, Garance’s literary agent who works with some incredibly talented authors, to share her recommended reading for a day on the beach or an afternoon snuggled up on the couch post-sun. Of all of the books she’s recommended in the past 4 years we’ve been working together, I’ve never come across one I didn’t thoroughly enjoy. So voila! Let the reading commence.

Cool! I always need a great new book. I’m addicted to audio books, I’ve never ‘read’ so much in my life : )
Love an audio book for our road trips to Cape Cod! x
OMG, I was just telling my friend how incredibly annoying I am when it comes to books. I read multiple books all at once, leave them half way, sometimes continue them months or even years later. I have been reading Jung Chang’s Wild Swans for about 5 years lol (Fantastic memoir btw). There have only been a handful of fantastic books I’ve solely read.
Anyway my point was, perhaps I just haven’t found books that I’m really into – I want to be into my choices, but I’m not? Maybe I’m just not great at finding good books, so this is perfect you have some recommendations! I will finish the current books I am reading, or make the executive decision to just stop if I’m not enjoying them deep down, and then proceed with this list. What do you think? God I sound so sad lol! X
Thanks so much! Definitely going to check these out on Kindle x
Love reading on my Kindle! Makes it so convenient! x
Thank you! It is always a struggle to find new books/authors and a recommendation to go with it. Placing an order for the books after posting this comment.
I just started reading The Answers this morning! Excited about it :)
Great recommendations! Can’t wait to get started reading! x
Enjoy Sharon! x
Parfaite séléction! Par contre sur les trois derniers posts, trois photos de jambes de femmes minces et blanches…
Je préfère tellement Atelier doré quand ma page s’ouvre sur un beau visage comme celui de De’Ara Balenger!!!
bisou
Adding the Shark club to my Kindle now, thanks for the tip!
