When we were in Paris, we went to take a look at Buly, the sublime boutique created by Ramdane Touhami and Victoire de Taillac.
It certainly takes you by surprise – you feel like you’ve suddenly entered an old fashioned pharmacy, and you’d be right. Ramdane based the design on a 17th-century dispensary, and he worked with artisans to create the shop using techniques from the period.
The idea came from Ramdane and Victoire’s passion for 19th century literature – Balzac and Zola, and also because that was the time when cosmetics and beauty products as we know them today were invented.
They have 8 main scents that are carried in their soaps, lotions, perfumes and their super unique scented matches. All of the products are made with simple, natural formulas and come in traditional glass bottles. The large glass jars behind the counter are used like ancient beauty secrets, given to you in small doses to mix in with the smaller more basic formulas. The plant-based hand lotion is very rich and even great for feet. And the soap may never be used because its too pretty, but functions just as well as a beautiful object.
The results are exciting and you can’t leave the boutique without taking something home. We thought you might like to take a little tour of the shop with us!!!!

Aren’t they the ones who revived Santa Maria Novella? I believe The Buly is the french competition to the famous italian brand and can’t wait to be back in Paris and try some of their products.

ça me fait penser à une pharmacie qui se visite à Florence, une des plus anciennes pharmacie du monde dans le quartier de Santa Maria Novella, elle est magnifique !
What I love so much in Paris is in general they try to to work with the best artisans in order to find the soul of the place .and that’s why it’s so fantastic .reminds me in away Serge Lutans in Palais Royal this is also a place with a soul.

J’adore ces boutiques a l’ancienne au charme desuet. Elles sentent bon les herbes et les armoires de nos grands-meres. J’adore le carrelage et les anciens radiateurs qui me rappellent mon enfance.

Je suis complètement fan à leur huile de pépins de raisin! Je l’utilise tout les soirs et je ne peux que le recommander! (Je sais qu’il y a une beauty addict dans votre équipe) On y trouve vraiment des merveilles et contrairement à ce que l’on pourrait penser ce n’est pas trop cher!

Ah, one of my favorite “finds” this summer. I was back at least three times with visitors, so the point where Victoire said I could work there, I knew the product line so well. I bought some of their fabulous cologne and moisturizer, my only complaint is that the glass bottles, while beautiful, don’t close tightly and when I opened my suitcase, they’d leaked a bit, ruining the lovely personalized boxes (one was a gift). I had wrapped them in plastic, so no harm done, and my suitcase smells amazing now. Hopefully they’ll ship next summer!
Bravo pour cette plongée dans le passé, ces matériaux nobles, c’est un peu comme un roman d’apothicaire. Et ça donne diablement envie.

Après avoir decouvert cette magnifique boutique il y a peu, je m’y suis rendue cette apres midi. C’est vraiment en endroit magique, tellement loin des franchises se multipliant à outrance, un lieu cosy et ultra chic, où le luxe c’est le vrai, l’authentique, le produit naturel aux vertus cosmetiques reconnues, le tout dans un packaging très étudié , suranné au possible. L’âme de ce cocon est réel. J’ai acheté l’huile antique, lichens d’Ecosse. Elle est parfaite, hydratante, sèche et sentant hyper bon. Pas si cher compte tenu de tout ça… Un voyage dans le temps . Quelques minutes de bonheur .
