A Beauty Minute with Columbine

Morning: I wash my hair with Björk & Berries Never Spring shampoo and conditioner and let it self dry. I never use blow dryers, flat irons, or similar. I just brush it through with my Mason Pearson brush. I like the morning routine to be quick so I don’t use too many products.

I quickly wash my face with Balancing Foaming Cleanser from Jurlique and splash a bit of cold water on the skin. Then I apply the Parsely Seed Anti-Oxidant Eye Cream from Aesop and massage the skin quickly while applying a light daycream (Bioderma Sensibio Light). I’m a sucker for the organic products from RMS Beauty and they’re super easy to use. I cover dark circles (being a night owl I rarely get those 8 hours of sleep of beauty sleep, more like 5-6) and small spots if needed with the Un-Cover Up brushing it on with the Skin2Skin Foundation brush. A bit of Lip2Cheek on my cheekbones in the shade “Curious.” A quick dash of Laura Mercier’s Translucent Loose Setting Powder on my forhead and chin and then a might add a small line of le crayon yeux in the shade “Brun teak” on the upper eye lid, close to the lashes. Then I’m ready to go.

Day: Laura Mercier’s Invisible Pressed Setting powder if I’m getting shiny on t-zone, Byredo’s leather travel case perfume in the scent Flowerhead if going somewhere after work and Rodin’s Olio Lusso lip balm.

Night: I take away the make up using Bioderma’s Solution Micellaire. One or two times a week a I do the Clear Improvement charcoal mask from Origins, rinsing it of with mid temperature water and then using the SK-II Facial Treatment Tissue Mask. If I’m not doing that I just use my day cream or the Marula Facial oil.

  • Hi Maria,

This is Columbine’s tried and true beauty routine, as told in her own words! Getting an inside look at all the products the women on our site use is just an added bonus :) x Natalie

  • My hair gets dry for at least 1.5 hours if I don’t use a hair drier. And even then it’s only 80% dry. And I got thin and fine hair. So I wonder when she gets up in the morning to be able to wash her hair and still get out of the house on time.

  • Hi Maria –

I too have thin and fine hair. It sits just above shoulder length which I usually air dry by loosening it up gently with my fingers. It literally takes me about 15 minutes to dry. In fact, I’ve had hairdressers spray water on my hair (which was wet from a wash) during haircuts! One tip is to gently comb the hair after conditioning, rinse off and then wrap in a towel for about 5 minutes. The towel will absorb a lot away and save time.

Having said all that, it still doesn’t mean that I’ll get out the door on time either. :)

  • Really Useful… Getting gorgeous look is awesome.. From your post i got the solution to cover up the imperfections. I also searched for concealers to hid my dark circle… Its really helped me… Good post..

    Keep posting
