Weekend Plans

Every week as Friday approaches I develop an idea in my head of what my weekend will look like. Typically, the vision resembles this photo of Ondine: a cute outfit, a look of peaceful content, a glow at dusk that enhances all of my best features, and a trip upstate to embrace the natural world. But then I blink and the weekend is over and not only did I not bask in the sunset wearing my favorite pair of wedged espadrilles (side note: I don’t own them yet), I also didn’t make it upstate (side note: I’ve been talking about doing this for four months).
Sure, having an extra day off as we do here in the States this weekend (hello Memorial Day) should motivate me to be simultaneously adventurous and stylish, but then I remember that it’s going to torrentially downpour all weekend and I should probably finish start packing my apartment to move next week. And because sometimes the best thing to do over a weekend is nothing at all. But damnit, I’m buying myself those espadrilles.
P.S. Ondine is an adorable Australian who writes and edits her blog called The Alchemists, among other things. She’s got really great style. And hair. And although I’ve never spoken to her in person, I’m sure she’s got a great accent too, but I’m partial towards Australians.
