Mamma Mia!

Moms are the best.
And we love how fashion week is embracing them.

At London Fashion Week, it was expectant mothers who were celebrated. But, in Milan, it was Dolce & Gabbana who really paid tribute to moms everywhere. Models walked the runway with their children, carrying babies and matching outfits with the older kids.

Their “All in the Family” theme really pulled at our heartstrings, and we liked the designs too ;)

Yes, all the world loves mothers and babies when they’re beautiful and dressed in Dolce and Gabbana. I find the general public much less forgiving in real life.

  • In Love with this Concept of Babies and Mothers. Props to Dolce & Gabbana

  • I love that they celebrate motherhood. But during London fashion I saw a young mother in the public. I don’t understand why you would like to go to a fashionshow with somebody on your lap that can’t sit still. Has a big change for crying. And afterward probably only want to eat icecream and go to the playground. I love the idea of brining your child when its at a age to understand the concept of a fashion show. But a almost infant child why? PS. Isn’t this a trend that kimk. Started?

  • Mainly because otherwise, you wouldn’t be able to do anything at all.

  • I agree with you. Children shoudn’t attend fashion shows, unless they’re at least about 5-6 years old. I would have been the happiest child if I could attend a fashion show at that age, but fashion shows are not even “healthy” for littles kids. There’s a lot of confusion, high volume music, it’s just stress for them. The fact that K. Kardashian wants to bring her daughter at fashion shows, for me and I want to stress for me, proves that she’s just a way to draw more attention. So children are supposed to do everything they parents do?

Ce sont vraiment leurs enfants? C’est une jolie idée.

  • I had mixed emotions on this one. Loved mothers and their babies, but it’s a bit disingenuous when pregnancy and motherhood aren’t necessarily things that are celebrated by Fashion. So much talk of “losing the weight” getting “your body back” and heaven forbid someone makes decent maternity/breastfeeding clothes. Sadly, the bumps and babes felt like a bit of a prop to me. Although maybe I’m grouchy because of my 5-months-pregnant belly. :)

  • Agree!

Le bébé nouvel accessoire de mode ? … je suis perplexe …

  • Call me cynical, but I found that show very cheesy and hypocritical (considering how fashion stands on the woman body). Also, the use of “mama” by the Spice Girls was just silly….

  • Glad that someone else thinks the same (as me). The collection have some gorgeous pieces, and I think that all the writtens about the love for “mamma” will be modified, but the clothes with the drawings made me think of Angelina Jolie’s wedding dress.

    love it!

  • I like the fact that influential people are using their medium to change what’s the usual, or accepted way of doing things. I always believe in questioning why something is done and why another way is automatically thrown out and not given a try. We can’t evolve if “what’s accepted by society” doesn’t get tested and changed.

  • “Mother is the name for God on the lips and hearts of all children.” This is what its ALL about. Not fashion, politics…Etc. Children are NOT accessories (i.e. handbags) that you tow around to get “attention” or “publicity”. Children have a heart and soul…feed them DEPTH, wisdom, understanding and love. NOT superficiality. If at all….superficiality should be the LAST thing. Kim K. and trophy wives you are so full of….Idiocracy.
