Mini City Guide

New Orleans

New Orleans

Last weekend I went to New Orleans for a wedding. In addition to it possibly being the MOST fun place to host a wedding (the night ended with everyone outside in the street parading behind the band), it is a city that has the power to transport to another time and place. From cajun flavors, to dusty antique shops, to the thick fog that sets over the city, the Big Easy truly feels like another world. A few of my favorite things from 48 hours in New Orleans!

1. French Quarter. Take an architecture walk (with a daiquiri to-go in hand). Check out the amazing colorful houses with French, Spanish and Creole influences. Antique shops on Royal Street are fun to browse and stop by Krewe, a cool Nola -based eyewear brand.

2. Brunch at Willa Jean. Shrimp and Grits and Fried Chicken biscuits. Enough said.

3.Garden District. Shops on Magazine Street and historic mansions.

4. Bacchanal. Grab a bottle of wine at their wine shop and post up at a table in their back patio with live music.

5. Beignets at Cafe Du Monde. A tourist trap that’s completely worth the hype. It’s open 24 hrs and I recommend going late-night after seeing a Brass Band on Frenchmen Street.
