Nina Simone! She is amazing, we all love her at the Studio (and, hey, who doesn’t?).
We also happen to love documentaries.
So, the new documentary chronicling her extraordinary life, What Happened, Miss Simone? is next on our watch list! The film examines the woman behind the legend, from her childhood as a musical prodigy to her role as a prominent civil rights activist, touching on the beautiful and also troubling moments of her life. It paints a more complex portrait of the famous musician than you might imagine, even spotlighting her complicated relationship with her daughter…
Buckle up! Pop some popcorn!

You have no idea how much I want to see this. I can barely contain myself until I get home this evening to watch. Her music and life (the little I know of it) speaks to me like no one other. Can’t wait, can’t wait.
