For Your Brows

11 years ago by

After our big brow discussion, I wanted to share with you my brow product of choice…

I don’t have super thin brows but they also aren’t Bambi Northwood Blythe brows either (girl has got some serious brows). I get them waxed twice a year (when I go home to Minnesota and see Angela, my eyebrow fairy godmother) and do some minor plucking when needed. My brow game completely changed when I started stealing my mom’s Brow Zings a few years ago. The little kit includes a brow wax and powder (I use the wax to tame them and the powder to fill in) and a super tiny tweezers, which is totally genius. I like that it keeps my brows looking natural, full and a bit more defined.

If you are searching for a brow solution, this has my (and my mom’s) stamp of approval!

Benefit is awesome…but if you aren’t a brunette it can be dark. I found this drugstore brand called Milani that makes a similar product great for redheads like me. They have one for blondies too! Their brow pencils aren’t bad either!

  • I just love BENEFIT ! J4ai découvert la crème à dompter dans un autre coffret de la marque et j’avoue que j’adore…

  • I use brow zings, and it’s a fairly good product. My only gripe is that their darkest shade isn’t dark enough for me. :(

  • Thank you so much! I am going to try it out soon. I love dark brows. My older sister, who looks a but like me, has amazing natural brows. Now I can make up for my genetic loss.

  • Thanks for the tip, need to look for it. It’s a good idea for the handbag I think I will use it for that :-)

Thank you for the tip! Surprisingly they sell them in my country too (the Netherlands), which is often not the case when I find beauty supply tips on international blogs :)
I’ve been looking for an alternative to an eyebrowpencil, which I sometimes feel makes my brows too artificial, even if I brush it out well.

My mom and I both use this product as well and I LOVELOVELOVE it! And, crazy enough it stays on through EVERYTHING (running, swimming, etc.). The way the guy at Sephora sold it to me was, “When you’re at a club, do you want to hug your friends and leave your eyebrows on their shirt? If yes, go ahead buy a pencil. Otherwise, use this!”

  • Do you prefer wax instead of gel? I’m wondering which hold the hair in place better.

  • Interesting, I am curious to try this! Another good product which I swear by for eyebrows is the Chanel brow kit, which has 3 different shades so you can create a really nice natural brow. It’s wax based so it stays on all day!

  • Ah! That’s the one I use! Have had the same one for 6 years! They sure last, even though I use it almost every day!

    xx

  • Seems like a great brow kit. I’m currently using just the Dior pencil, but I’d like to try something different, so I’ll look for this one :)!
    Have a great weekend :).

  • Oh! That’s great advice. I have never used anything for the brows.
It would be great to see a video! Sort of before and after (or just pictures)?

    Thanks

It seems like more and more people are talking about brow wax but does it hold or color? Or both?

  • oooooh yes i love this brow kit, i just discovered it a couple months ago & now its my brow staple :)

  • So, I’ve always been complimented on my great eyebrow shape, arch, etc, and I was always so confident tweezing them like a pro!

But then something happened. I lost my brow mojo and they look like they’ve been put in a blender and stuck back on my face, and I just can’t get it together! I’m terrified of going to an esthetician and coming out with a weird shape, or pencil thin brows, especially in Atlanta where I live. I’m making a trip to NYC soon, can anyone PUHLEASE recommend a brow guru for me? xoxo

  • Shobha is where I go for my brows. They corrected a crooked brow I had been maintaining my ENTIRE adult life and it changed my whole face. Love them.

  • I use the Anastasia Brow kit. It has two shades, wax, and a white shadow to use under the brow. Works for me!

  • Do you mind me asking where you get your brows done in MN? Asking because I too am a Minnesota girl in a New York world and would love to know!

  • I am using Bobbi Brown’s pencil except it is not a pencil, but powder in form of pencil. I know, confusing… nevertheless, it is much better than regular pencil because it doesn’t leave those terrible lines..

I too am a MN girl & could use a re-work. Would you pass on Angela’s info?
