Carlen Perfumes Candle
6 years ago by
I’ve talked about the candle dilemma at my little home here.
A few weeks ago said Byredo candle finally took it’s last breath. I had to find something to replace it sooner than later as Tyler has a propensity to cook a lot of meat in our small home and we don’t have a vent in our kitchen — the joy of New York — so we rely on candles.
Enter Carlen Perfumes. I keep a sample of their Coco Flor perfume on my desk and Vanessa asks me to douse her in it daily. It’s basically summer (read: sunscreen) in a bottle minus the sticky-sweet smell that typically turns me off from such scents.
So when Carlen Parfum‘s Pompeii candle landed on my desk, I was not surprised I was smitten by the scent.
But beyond the scent, I fell in love with the shape of the candle in its concrete, orb vessel. When I’m not using the candle to drone out the meat smells, it looks like a cool found object on my bookshelf.
This will be my candle of choice for the foreseeable future and I’m already dreaming up what oddities I can keep in the concrete ball when this candle is extinguished for good.
