After a few years picturing the ultra-power-sexy woman, playing it fast & hard, today the Balmain woman is calm, at home, simply sublime, intimately Parisian, wearing the most amazing outfits with an ideal dose of detachment. I just love it.

Pour la première fois cette saison, j’ai compris la sensibilité de Balmain. Je crois que le travail d’Olivier Rousteing est tout simplement sublime. Ce doit être à cause de lui que je suis rendu un balmainiac!

Anne Helen Peterson at Hairpin was writing about the Garbo look, calling it “equal parts disinterested and orgasmic.” Exactly right–for La Balmaine, too!

Pour ma part, je préfère, beaucoup plus en phase avec l’actualité et l’air du temps, non ?
Je suis aussi tombée “en arrêt” devant cette photo, je suis fascinée. Je la trouve reposante. Vous avez vu la texture de ses cheveux ?

Par contre, niveau texture des cheveux, moi j’ai un peu des doutes…
Les autres photos constituant la campagne m’ont fait le même effet.
J’y peux rien, même si j’aime l’atmosphère et que j’adhère au côté, “chuis toute seule chez moi, et alors? Je porte mes fringues si je veux.”, les cheveux “sales” j’ai du mal. Mais ça doit refléter une réalité.

L’éclairage fait très années 30… la coiffure aussi. Je ne sais trop que pense d’une femme si sereine!

I have to admit I don’t like Balmain all that much (too obviously sexy, for my taste), but I LOVE this ad: the hair and the contrast of the ultra glamorous top and the schoolgirl hairdo is great.
I cut away from the magazine when I first saw it.
