You might have seen Garance wearing one in this post, and it now feels like we’re seeing the fanny pack everywhere — though returning in leather and more sophisticated shapes than before. The whole team loved the triple fanny packs at Kenzo, which seemed like a more chic way of dividing the necessaries than a bulky single pack.
A million light years away from the 90s mom who wore it to the amusement park, the mall, hiking… !
I’ve had my simple black one from Rodebjer for a couple of years now, and I personally love that you have the ease of a bag and a belt in one. I use it to cinch in flowing dresses or silk tops and, even though I always get asked if I’m a hairdresser when I wear it (hahah! but seriously…), it means it’s easier to (a) access everything, and (b) enjoy life — dance, hang out in crowded bars, etc.

That’s so funny because just this past Sunday I put on my fanny pack for an outing. I wanted to be “hands-free” and have a few that have been hanging around in my closet for ages untouched. It felt so freeing especially when you wear it with a flowing loose blouse. I posted it on my lifestyle blog:

I’ve been a fan of these belt bags for a long time. I’m usually more of a leather fan, but the vegan leather makes these bags really light and doesn’t pull around your waist, which is slimming. Belt bags are a great option when running around NYC!

Dancing time! I’ve wrapped the strap of my crossed body bag around my hips when dancing so the bag is not interrupting the movement, in the moment hacking. This is what I’ve been waiting for, I need to get one of these bags asap!

I designed and wore fannypacks a lot during my teenage years, they always matched my fave outfit for parties. Now I have a sporty one with a nice flower print that I wear when I want to dance, cycle or hike without a bulky backpack. But for every day I’m staying true to my over-the shoulder bag.
