You might remember Linne talking about our team holiday dinner in this post, but the food and the ambiance was too good not to give it a little more love and a few more photos.
Honestly, when Caitlin and Gabby told us all where our holiday party would be, I think Mary and Sarah said, “chic” about twenty times. If we’re not saying “chic,” we’re saying “cute” around here to express our enthusiasm these days (we all blame Christina for introducing us to the word “cute.”)
So yes, said dinner was both chic and cute, BUT I am also here to tell you where you can find the best set of mashed potatoes this side of the Mississippi.
It’s at Augustine.
I only had one helping because everyone else got their mitts on them and forgot about their adherence to no butter and carbs AND I’M STILL MAD ABOUT IT. They are the perfect consistency and taste predominately like cream and butter, just like mashed potatoes should — as the potato is just a vehicle for the dairy, everyone knows that.
Okay but beyond the mashed potatoes, order the roast chicken and top it off with some brown butter ice cream and you will be waddling out of there in heaven.
Linne said all the good gush-y stuff in the post before Christmas — and dare I say she even teared up when we went around and gave speeches — but I just wanted to say thanks to Augustine for kicking off my holiday “diet” of creamy, rich, hearty food that makes you believe in Santa Claus because dammit how else is that magic made?!
