5 Things I Learned Backstage at Stella McCartney
9 years ago by
Who doesn’t want to be a Stella girl? That effortlessly cool, eco-conscious woman, someone who treads that line of downtown spunk and ladylike measure…
Beyond the clothes, there’s also that super natural (and supernatural) beauty.
I went backstage yesterday before the debut of McCartney’s Resort 16 collection about their never-fail tricks:
1. Use hairspray on your hairbrush NOT your hair
Holds firm but looks way more natural according to Frank Rizzieri who was there for Aveda.
2. Keep. It. Real.
Especially when it comes to eyeliner – Gucci Westman attests that it looks better when there’s a little unevenness.
3. Find your natural side part…
A side part always looks best when it lines up with the highest part of the arch in your brow.
4. Pearl makes perfect.
The less matte a nail polish is, the more forgiving it is aka little smudges don’t show up says Madeline Poole, who led on nails for Sally Hansen.
5. Freckles can be faked.
It’s just all about making them asymmetrical, a little uneven like your liner…
What are some beauty lessons you’ve taken from the runway?
Hair: Frank Rizzieri for Aveda; makeup: Gucci Westman; nails: Madeline Poole for Sally Hansen.
L’astuce de la laque est très intéressante! En effet ces modèles sont magnifiques :)

I love that it allows us to be a little bit natural a bit messy. Love Stella’s style :)

I love the earring in the first photo! These tips are so unique and original – love the bit about not being entirely symmetrical :)

So cool! Great make up!
I love the red lips on runways, smudged eyeliner and Tom Ford’s sexy looks with bedroom hair.
I wonder how the second dress look like, could you show more?
The dress on the second picture, I mean.
Ravie de savoir qu’un trait d’eye-liner irrégulier est plus joli: je n’ai jamais été fichue d’en faire un parfait !
Mixing make up base with foundation to fake a naturally perfect skin.
Whaoo!!!! Merci pour ces astuces certes simple mais très efficace.
